Who is the easiest person for you to talk to? No question about it, that would be my husband 🙂

If you could live in any ancient city during the height of the quality of its society and culture, which one would you choose? I don’t really know, maybe Athens or Rome.

What is the most exciting event you’ve ever witnessed? I can’t think of anything! I’m sure most everyone will answer this question “the birth of my child”, but alas, no kiddos for us.

If you were a celebrity, what would you do for a publicity stunt? Well, I have no wish to be any kind of celebrity. I think the kind of people who strive for that type of life are drawn to the spotlight and often do all sorts of crazy things to keep their name and face out there. I wish more of them would have more dignity about what they do and how they draw attention to themselves. It goes against the grain, though, I guess. Oh, well, let’s see — to answer the question, no publicity stunts here. I’d be quiet and respectful and try to stay out of the limelight.

What do you consider the ideal age to have a first child? About 25 or 26.

Say there’s a book written about your life. Who would you want to narrate the audio version? Well, I’m assuming it would need to be a female voice, but the only one that came to mind (and Tim helped me with this) is Jamie Lee Curtis. It’s funny, though, a male voice pops right into my head. Tim and I were talking the other day about Dennis Hasbert – the guy who played President David Palmer on 24, and is on The Unit now. He also narrates the Allstate commercials – he has a rich, deep voice, sort of like James Earl Jones.

If you could go back in time and spend one week in another decade, which decade would you choose? Ooh, I’d probably pick the 40’s. Something about the WWII area has always fascinated me.

Do you prefer to wash your hands in cold water or warm water? Totally depends on the time of year. I do not like to wash my hands in cold water when it’s winter and cold. In the summer though, I like it quite well! Of course, warm works year round for me 🙂

Describe your laundry routine. Do you have a certain day when you do it all, or do you just wash whatever you need for the next day? Well, if you’ve visited here much, I’m sure you know that I’m pretty regimented and routine-oriented. I function best when I have a routine, and that naturally extends to my full-time job, homemaking. I do have a routine on my laundry – on Mondays, all of Beau’s stuff gets washed, on Tuesday I do towels (I love alliteration!) and Wednesdays I do sheets. I usually do whites and colored clothes every 2-3 days, alternating days. It depends on when I’ve done them last, but I’m going to wash colors today 🙂

In your opinion, what age will you be when you’ll consider yourself to truly be old? Gosh, I don’t know. When I was younger, I thought 30 was old. Now, 30 looks awesome! How about 70?! 😀

What is one of your goals? Is it short-term, long-term, or both? I set a goal of the number of books I want to read each year (for the last 3 years). I read 70 books last year and I had originally set my goal for this year to be 75. But, I’m already up to 68, so I don’t think I’m going to have a problem meeting and exceeding my goal. So, now I’m trying to figure out a new goal to shoot for 🙂 My main long-term goal would be travel. Especially to England and Scotland – that’s my lifelong dream, to visit those 2 countries.

On a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being highest, how polite are you? Well, being very Southern and being born and raised in the Hospitality State, I think I’m fairly polite. I’d rate myself about an 8, I think 🙂

What was the last thing that made you laugh out loud? An older movie we rented from Netflix – 13 Going on 30 with Jennifer Garner. I had seen it, but Tim had not (I rented it a long time ago when he was out of town on business). It has several 80’s related scenes in it that are laugh-out-loud funny to me.

Who is your favorite cartoon character? I don’t do cartoons! How about Snoopy? Is he a cartoon character? 🙂

Tell about the funniest teacher you ever had. Ugh, I don’t remember any of my teachers being particularly funny. Then again, I don’t remember most of my teachers. The few I do remember are the ones that were difficult, for one reason or another.

Describe a toy you remember from your childhood. Awww, now, I can’t remember anything from my childhood, school years, and heck, most of college is a blank for me. We’ve covered this before, I have an atrociously bad memory. However, I do remember having 2 baby dolls. One had really smooth skin and a pink dress. I also had some stuffed animals, one of which I still have somewhere in the back of a closet. He’s a little brown stuffed dog that I named Rayford. 🙂

On a scale of 1 to 10 (with 10 being highest) how observant are you? I think I’m really observant, especially on little details, so I’d have to go all out and rate myself an 8 or 9. 😀

Where would you rather be at this very moment? I’m very content and happy with where I am, literally and figuratively. I’ve got my laptop in my lap. some coffee with Coffeemate Blueberry Cobbler creamer added, and the TV is on, playing Good Morning America. I’ve pretty much got it made in the shade, LOL!

When was the last time you learned something new? Wednesday, when I went to the golf course with Tim, I learned that on a par 3, you don’t write down any statistics for “fairways” or “greens in regulation”. 🙂

On a scale of 1 to 10 (with 10 being highest) how much do enjoy watching sports on television? That would depend on the sport. Football is very high, a 9 or 10. Tennis is way up there, but baseball, basketball, golf, etc are much lower, probably a 4 or 5

If you could completely memorize any one work of fiction, which one would you pick? I have absolutely no idea! I don’t think I’d want to fill my memory chip in my brain with a work of fiction; I don’t think there’d be much room left for anything else! 😀

Salad
What is your favorite breakfast food? I love all of ’em! I love eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits, grits, oatmeal, waffles, pancakes, french toast and the list goes on and on. Most days I eat a bowl of cereal (usually Cheerios) and I love that too. We often fix breakfast food at suppertime, because we both love it 🙂

Main Course
Name something fun you can do for less than $10.00. How about free? Go to a local park and take a picnic lunch or supper. Swing on the swings, slide on the slides, take a walk on a nature course, watch the kids play.

Dessert
How long does it usually take you to fall asleep? Not too long, maybe 20 minutes or less. I almost always read before bedtime and that helps tire out my eyes and makes me more likely to fall asleep. Also, when we are keeping up with our walking schedule, I find I don’t have very much trouble falling asleep.

What is your favorite fruit? I love fruit! I don’t think I can pick a favorite one. Some of my favorites are green grapes, strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, plums and bananas. I don’t think there is any fruit I don’t like 🙂

Who is someone you consider as a great role model? Tim’s Dad. He’s been a wonderful role model to his sons, showing them and teaching them how to be good men – loving and kind, decent and hardworking.

Salad
If you were to spend one night anywhere within an hour of your home, where would you choose? At a bed and breakfast in a town about 45 minutes away

Name something you do too often. Say “I’m sorry”. I say it all the time, to everyone, for everything. Tim called me on it just this morning.

Do you button shirts top-to-bottom or bottom-to-top? Top to bottom, I’m pretty sure. I’m a very orderly person 🙂

What is your favorite sandwich? I’m not a big sandwich eater. I think that comes from growing up, brown bagging it to school every day. I got tired of sandwiches and didn’t eat them at all in college or afterwards. I like them better now, and I love a good french dip, layers of roast beef with a good au jus, on a big crispy bun. I even like grilled cheese, especially with tomato soup 🙂

Salad
What was a family project you helped work on as a child? I don’t think we had any family projects when I was a child! I used to love to work jigsaw puzzles at Christmas and New Years, with my sister. I like to do that still, and beg Tim every year to work them with me 😀

Main Course
When have you acted phony? Probably when I’m around people I don’t like or feel really uncomfortable around. I think I try to just stick a fake smile on my face and try not to open my mouth and insert my foot.

Dessert
Do you write letters or postcards? If so, to whom? Not much anymore. With the advent of computers and email, I do most of my personal and business correspondence electronically. I do still try to send postcards when we go somewhere fun on vacation. I can’t remember the last time I sat down and wrote someone a letter though. It’s been several years.

How many pieces of jewelry do you wear most days? Most days, I only wear my wedding band. When I’m out and about, I will wear my engagement ring with it, my watch and a pair of earrings. Very rarely do I wear a necklace or bracelet, and never any other rings. I’m just not a jewelry kind of gal. And for that, my husband is truly grateful 😀

What is your favorite instrumental song? I think I need more coffee – I can barely think of any, much less my favorite. Let’s see, I like Kenny G, so I think his counts as instrumental. I also like some classical music and some movie soundtracks.

Who has a last name that you like? I love my last name! My husband’s name and that of his family is very important to me. In fact, back in April, I wrote a long post here on my father-in-law’s birthday, about our last name, and the things my FIL taught my husband by word and example.

Name a popular movie you’ve never seen. Here we go again! The Wizard of Oz. I’ve never seen it and never will. Long story. I’ve also never seen Saving Private Ryan, The Passion of the Christ, and several others because I just didn’t think I could handle it.

Name a funny habit you have. Hmm, probably my habit of picking things up and putting them in their place. I don’t like things out of place for very long. I don’t like to sit down in the evenings to watch TV or a movie and know that I have dirty dishes in the kitchen or things that need to be done. Oooh! I also have this funny thing that I do with my bookmark. I was reading at my sister Gail’s one time and she commented that she does the same thing, so we’re odd together 🙂 When I’m reading a book, I take my bookmark and sort of lay it on my left shoulder. I have no idea why or why I started doing this.

If you could instantly know how to play a musical instrument, which one would you pick? Probably the piano

How long is your hair? Somewhere between my chin and my shoulders. I would like to grow it a little longer, about shoulder length, but it gets frizzy at a certain point and I usually end up chopping it.

When was the last time you forgave someone, and who was it? Gosh, I have no idea. I am the one who needs forgiving most of the time. I have a temper and I get my feelings hurt too easily and get upset.

What is your favorite kitchen appliance? Hmm, my favorite would be my red Kitchen-aid mixer. The one I use the most is either my crockpot or my toaster oven. Or lately, since we’re watching more movies, my microwave to pop popcorn 😀

What do you consider to be the ultimate snack food? As much as I love chocolate anything, I think popcorn is probably the ultimate snack. I know it’s a definite for me when we go to the movies, and I like to pop some at home when we watch movies, too. Good stuff. Sometimes, I actually do crave something salty and not sweet! 🙂

On a scale of 1 to 10 (with 10 as highest), about how popular is your last name? Gosh, not very. Neither my maiden name nor my married name are popular at all, maybe a 2. The problem with both of them is that people tend to misspell them. 🙁

Who is your all-time favorite sitcom character, and why? I like several of the characters on Friends, but I always really loved Jamie and Paul on “Mad About You” 😀

Do you shop online? If so, name some sites you like to browse for goodies. I do a ton more browsing than actual shopping. I do the majority of buying from Amazon. It’s just so easy and they have so much of what I’m interested in ordering online (usually books and kitchen items)

Name something you think is “the best.â€? Since I’m hungry, I’m thinking food. We think Sonic is the best! We pick Sonic before all other fast food places. If we want a quick burger, we go there. If we want a slushy drink or a great shake, we go there. We love Sonic, it’s the best 😀

On a scale of 1 to 10 (with 10 highest), how stressed are you today? About a 5. Both of my boys are sick. Tim has been sick for over 2 weeks now with a cold/sinus head and chest congestion thing. Beau came home from the kennel and threw up 8 times in the first 24 hours. The vet has him on bread, Xantac and this morning he could have plain white rice mixed with chicken. He didn’t like the rice, so he spit it out on the floor while he rooted around in his bowl for the chicken. Tonight, we’re going to try his food again and hope he doesn’t throw up. I hope he doesn’t throw up any more, I want him to get better, plus, I’m tired of cleaning it up! I have a bad sore throat, so we’re all sick. Other than that, everything is rosy and nothing to be stressed over 😀

What kind of cleanser do you use to wash your face? I vacillate between Olay foaming face wash and Biore pore minimizing face wash

Tonight is a blue moon! What is something that you believe only happens “once in a blue moon.� I have no idea!

When was the last time it rained where you live? Weeks, it seems like. We had a decent chance for rain yesterday. It sprinkled for about 90 seconds and barely wet the pavement. My grass is so dry in my yard, it crunches when you walk on it 🙄

Name a sound you like to hear. My cell phone ring when Tim is calling. The happy “har har har” sound that Beau makes when he’s happy and wants to play.

What is your favorite kind of cheese? I never met a cheese I didn’t like. Although I’ve never tried the really strong ones like Muenster and stuff. I love regular cheddar, mozzarella, swiss, provolone, monterey jack, gouda, feta, parmesan, etc

Salad
Do you sleep late on Saturday mornings? Why or why not? Not any more, not since we got Beau. He likes to get up at the crack of dawn and whine, bark and shake his chain until I get up to let him out. He likes to go out early to stalk his squirrels, birds and lizards in the backyard. A born hunter, my puppy dog.

Main Course
When was the last time you forgot something? What was it and how long did it take to remember it? I forgot to put a new thing of Purell in my purse the other day. I told Tim to remind me and he forgot too. Then he said last night after he came in that he had to wash his hands, and it made me remember. I stopped right then and went and put a new thing in my purse. Otherwise, I would have forgotten again!
