When was the last time you had your hair cut/trimmed? Last week. Every five weeks, like clockwork. I make the appointment for the next visit before I leave the salon.

Name one thing you miss about being a child. The anticipation of things like summer vacation and Christmas. They held a magic then that I just can’t reproduce now

If you could learn another language, which one would you pick, and why? I’d have to say Spanish. Tim’s brother just remarried two weeks ago and my new sister-in-law is Hispanic. She doesn’t speak much English yet. We have a huge communication gap and I really wish I spoke Spanish. I’m trying to learn a few words, but it is still very hard to communicate.

Do you consider yourself to be an optimist or a pessimist? I’m definitely a pessimist. Some things I can be optimistic about, but most of the time, I’m afraid the pendulum swings the other way quite naturally for me. I do try though 🙂

What is your favorite color of ink to write with? Blue. Hands down. Tim has learned through the years that black ink just doesn’t work for me (he prefers black!)

Salad
How often do you get a manicure or pedicure? Do you do them yourself or go to a salon and pay for them? Um, never. I have really bad nails, ugly feet and hands. It ain’t gonna happen.

Have you ever won anything online? If so, what was it? Yes! I’ve won lots of things in my life, including two trips from local radio stations. Online, I’ve won money, iTunes gift cards, movie tickets, books, CD’s, DVD’s, and most recently, $750 from Blingo (thanks to my buddy Dawn!)

In which room in your house do you keep your home computer? OK, is this a trick question?! We have 5 computers here. The main ones are in the office/computer room, which is our smallest spare bedroom. My laptop normally stays in the den, and Tim’s laptop vacillates between the office and the den. We’re geeks, I tell ya, geeks 😀

What was your favorite cartoon when you were a child? Ah, here we go again with having to remember stuff from childhood. I don’t remember much, but I do remember liking “The Jetsons”. I think there was another one, Land Before Time or something, Tim and I have talked about watching that show. I don’t think it was a cartoon though.

Pretend you are about to get a new pet. Which animal would you pick, and what would you name it? I just got a new pet a year and a half ago! I would get the same, a golden retriever or lab or a mix of the two. I would have to figure out a new name for this one, it took me a while to decide on Beau (short for Beauregard) for our current doggie.

Name something you would categorize as weird. I don’t know about weird, but I don’t like it – I don’t like body piercings or tattoos. I don’t understand why people want to desecrate their body like that. Tim and I were almost relieved to see Carly Smithson leave American Idol this week. We don’t like her tattoo, but I absolutely could not look at the TV when they showed her husband in the audience. That grosses me out.

What color was the last piece of food you ate? Orange (orange juice) and white/beige (Cheerios)!

On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being highest, how much do you enjoy being alone? Oh wow, an 8 or 9 probably. I tend to be a very solitary person.

Describe your sleeping habits. When I was younger, I had no problems sleeping. When I laid my head down, I went to sleep and would not wake up all night long. As I have gotten older, this has changed. I sometimes have trouble falling asleep, and I almost always wake up at least once during the night, sometimes more. I don’t feel as rested this way, so I’m not happy about it. I cut out caffeine after mid-afternoon a couple of years ago, and that helps, as does exercise. If I mess up and have a glass of tea at supper or a coffee in the late afternoon, I will be up half the night 🙁

Using 20 or less words, describe your first driving experience. I don’t remember! I remember being nervous about taking my drivers test, and I remember backing over the garbage can a few weeks after I got my license. But the actual first time I drove, I don’t remember!

What material is your favorite item of clothing made out of? My favorite thing to wear are my Life is Good t-shirts, made out of good old soft cotton. These are the most comfortable t-shirts I’ve ever had. I love them and wish I could wear them every day 🙂

Main Course
Who is a great singer or musician who, if they were to come to your town for a concert, you would spend the night outside waiting for tickets to see? Good grief, I am too old to do that now! Back in the 80’s, I might have done that for a favorite band like Journey or Def Leppard, but even then, I doubt I would have done it. Concerts and music just do NOT mean that much to me. My sleep and my comfy bed are much more important to me!

Invent a new flower; give it a name and describe it. Oh, now, I have no idea! Too early in the morning, and I haven’t had my coffee yet 😀 How about a rose with red and yellow on it and you call it a Stoplight Rose? 🙄

Name someone whom you think has a wonderful voice. Ooh, there two, but I can only think of one of their names. Dennis Haysbert, who played David Palmer on 24 and then was on “The Unit”. He also does the State Farm commercials. His voice is like velvet to me. He has a very “James Earl Jones” kind of voice, good for voice-overs, narrations and commercials.

Salad
On a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being highest, how clean do you keep your car? I keep my car pretty clean on the inside. Tim treats it like a gym locker though, taking it to the golf course and stuff. I’d say about a 7 or 8 overall. It needs washing right now because of all of the pollen everywhere here.

How do you feel about poetry? Nah, not really into poetry. Doesn’t do anything for me.

What was the last person/place/thing you took a picture of? Beau, of course! I even remember distinctly because Tim came into the living room and I was taking a photo of him. Tim said “was he doing something special?” and I said “No, he’s just so cute laying there”. He rolled his eyes and asked how many photos I had like that of Beau. Thousands, I said! So, Beau definitely. He’s my favorite subject

What does the color dark green make you think of? The bath mats in our master bathroom, a favorite set of bath towels… My comforter, along with burgundy in it also.

How many cousins do you have? Well, isn’t that a straightforward question for most people. I really don’t know. I think I have 3, but I’ve never met them and I don’t know their names. My dad had one brother that he was estranged from, and I never met them. Now, Tim, on the other hand, would be the perfect one to answer this question. He has tons of cousins! I think he has about 24 or 25 first cousins. If we started counting second cousins, I’m not sure we could count them all!

On a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being highest, how honest are you? I think I’m really honest. I don’t try to hurt anyone’s feelings, but I do try to be very truthful. I’d say about an 8.

Main Course
Name something that is truly free. I’d love to say our freedom as Americans, but that is paid for every day by our brave and unselfish military forces. I’d also like to say the library, which I love and adore, but I know that our taxes go to that somehow. I guess maybe air?! 🙂

Given the choice, would you prefer to live in the country or in the city? Well, I’d say city, except to me, that means a small city, not a big place like New York or Los Angeles. I’m a suburb kind of girl! I like having stores close by, pizza delivery, a library around the corner, etc.

Who is the cutest kid you know?Well, now, all of my nieces and nephew, great-nieces and great-nephews are just the cutest things. Silly question, I cannot pick just one!

Fill in the blank: I couldn’t believe it when I heard ___________. I’m drawing a total blank on this one. I better go get another cup of coffee so my brain can function!

If you could star in a commercial for one of your favorite products, which one would you want to advertise? Well, there’s always food products and chocolate stuff, but how about my new Philips Sonicare electric toothbrush? I love that thing. I feel like it gets my teeth so much cleaner than just a plain toothbrush. I hate using a manual brush now!

What type(s) of vitamins and/or supplements do you take on a regular basis? I take a daily vitamin, a glucosamine supplement, a calcium supplement, and several prescription meds every day. Ugh. 😀

On a scale of 1-10 (with 10 as highest), how much do you like your own handwriting? Somewhere along a 5 or 6. 10 or 15 years ago, I would have rated it much higher. I used to have really nice penmanship. On some of my college forms and papers, the professor would ask me if I had typed the answers, but the answer was always no, that is my handwriting! However, with the advent of computers and other technology, I tend to type more and more and write less and less. My handwriting has become sloppier, and more hurried as well. It often frustrates me to write out something long hand, because it seems to take forever. I know I could be doing it so much faster if I were typing it!

Do you prefer baths or showers? Both about the same, although I’d probably lean towards baths more. I love a good warm bubble bath! But, the way our bathroom is setup, our bath doesn’t have a shower head, so if I need to wash my hair, I have to take a shower. So, I take as many or more showers than baths, out of practicality.

Salad
What was the last bad movie you watched? Hmmm, I can’t recall one off the top of my head. We’ve been getting some movies in from Netflix lately for just Tim, and I don’t even attempt to watch them because I know I wouldn’t enjoy them. I don’t like a lot of violence, bad language and scary stuff. Let’s see, I keep our movies listed here, and some of the ones we haven’t liked lately are: American Gangster, Tim watched and didn’t even finish it; we didn’t like an older movie I rented called “Someone Like You” and I didn’t watch “Disturbia”, “Beowulf” or “300” because I knew I wouldn’t like them. Of those 3, Tim only really liked Disturbia.

Name something you are addicted to and describe how it affects your life. Addicted to, like this computer and the Internet? Or a food addiction, like how much I adore chocolate and how I want some every single day? I don’t have “bad” addictions, but those are bad enough!

Which instrument is your favorite to listen to? That’s a toss-up between piano and acoustic guitar. I love the sound of both on certain types of music. I can’t play either, so I really appreciate them!

If you could be any current celebrity for one whole week, who would you want to be? Oh, do I have to pick? I don’t want to be a celebrity. I don’t want people following me to the grocery store to take photos or seeing me with no make up on and a baseball cap. Ugh. Please. I just want to be normal!

On a scale of 1-10 (with 10 being highest), how much do you enjoy talking on the phone? Ugh, about a 2. I am so not a phone person.

What is a food you like so much you could eat it every single day for a month? Hello, is chocolate a food? Then definitely chocolate. I have some almost every day anyway! As for traditional food, probably something like pasta or chinese food. 30 days would be a long time to eat just one food though.

Have you or anyone in your family had the flu this year? No, thank goodness. Just some sinus and gunk. I’ve only had the flu one time in recent memory. The only year I got a flu shot. So, I don’t get them anymore!

Share a beauty or grooming trick or tip with us. Hah! Me, beauty tips?! You must have me confused with someone else! Ok, here’s one thing. I’ve heard for a while about the make up like Bare Essentials, the “mineral powder” and “powder veil” type makeups. Those kinds of things aren’t in my budget. But last week when my sister and I were at Walmart, we found that most of the brands there are coming out with these mineral based makeup. I think I saw them in Cover Girl, Maybelline, Revlon, L’Oreal, Almay, Neutrogena, etc. I bought some of the powder foundation and I really like it. It’s going to be great to wear in the summer, much lighter and doesn’t feel so cakey and heavy as liquid foundation.

What does the color yellow make you think of? Happy things – daffodils, spring, Easter chickadees. My kitchen! A new color of Fiestaware dishes I am hoping to get. Two cute blouses I just bought (one is yellow and white and the other is black, yellow and white, cute cute cute!)

If you were to make your living as a photographer, what subject would your pictures revolve around? Natural things like flowers, birds. Red Barns. Old churches. Stained glass windows. Hmmm, having a hard time picking one!

What was the longest book you ever read?It feels like the last one I just read, the first book in the Bourne series by Robert Ludlum (paperback, tiny print, 535 pages). I don’t know, maybe Gone With the Wind was longer. I don’t like long books. I’ve found that not only am I a mood reader, but I have a fairly short attention span where books are concerned. 😀

Have you ever played a practical joke on anyone? If so, what did you do and who was your victim? No, I’m not a jokester. I’ve had them played on me, back when I worked with all men (engineers and analysts). They loved to do things like unplug my keyboard, put tape over the speaker in my phone, etc. They got a kick out of seeing me get worked up. I never felt the need to do things like that to other people 🙂

What do your salt and pepper shakers look like? I have 2 sets – one sits on my kitchen table, and matches my dishes (Mikasa French Countryside), so they are white. I have a tool caddy/spice rack next to my stove that Tim bought me for Christmas several years ago. In addition to glass jars for all kinds of spices, it has a stainless salt and pepper shaker included. I use that when I’m cooking 😀

Where is the next place you plan to visit (on vacation or business)? We haven’t figured out where we’re going this year on vacation, yet. Suggestions?!!!!

What kind of lotion or cream do you use to keep your hands from getting too dry? I don’t use hand cream regularly, but I do use it more this time of year than the summer. I’m currently using some from Bath and Body Works.

Make up a dessert, tell us its ingredients, and give it a name. Aww, come on now, I can’t come up with a new dessert! Mine would have chocolate in it, of course, and maybe some cherry. How about some kind of chocolate-cherry bar?

Name one thing that is unique about you. Well, I couldn’t come up with anything, except my odd “Monk-like” habit of always putting things in their place. You know, like when Tim comes in and drops his keys on the kitchen countertop. I go move them and put them “where they are supposed to be”. Things like that 🙂 I asked Tim and he said immediately “your eyes”. Which surprised me. And when he told me why he thinks my eyes are unique, he took my breath away and nearly made me cry. So there, a dual answer 😀

What level of responsibility do you have in your job?Well, I’m the queen of all I survey around here! My last job, I was a peon, but Tim lets me decide most everything in my new, favorite job of “keeper of the household”. I plan meals, do all the shopping and purchasing, etc. It’s a great job if you can get it 🙂

What is your favorite kind of cereal? Ooh, I’m a cereal lover! I’d have to either pick Yogurt Cheerios, Raisin Bran Crunch or Special K Red Berries 🙂

When was the last time you purchased something for your home, what was it, and in which room did it go? Hmmm, it’s been a while. Probably the new picture and scones with candles we got to put on the wall behind our couch

What is the funniest commercial you’ve ever seen? I like those for Ford, when they talk about the voice-activated Sync system. The lady with the coffee yells “Door, Open!” and then runs into the plate glass door and splashes the coffee all over herself 😀 I wouldn’t say this is the funniest ever. I’d have to really work on my memory processes and try to find one for all time. Too much work, LOL!

Make up a name for a company by using a spice and an animal (example: Cinnamon Monkey). OK, I’m terrible at these things. How about Cayenne Canines?
