1. I have broken zero bones in my lifetime.
2. I have had to get ?? stitches. –> I have no idea on this one! I had stitches as a very small child, but I don’t know how many! I have had none later in life
3. The worst I’ve ever injured myself was when I was a toddler and a brick fell on my head 😀 Yes, that’s how I always explain what is wrong with me – a brick fell on my head when I was very little!
4. I’ve had to go to the Emergency room 1 times (again, as a toddler, and I don’t remember a single bit of it!)
5. On a scale of 1 (being the highest) to 10 (being the lowest), my pain tolerance is a 9 . I’m a complete and total wimp, and I know it.

Feast Ninety-Six
Appetizer
On a scale of 1 to 10 (with 10 being highest), how funny do you think you are? Well, I think I’m about average, maybe a 5 or 6. Tim and I “get” each other’s humor and I often find we laugh at each other a lot more than other people laugh along to whatever we are saying or joking about. A lot of inside jokes, I guess, or else we’ve just grown very alike in our humor
Soup
Name a local restaurant would you recommend to a visitor to your town or city. If they would eat fish, we’d take them to Cock of the Walk out at the Reservoir. They only serve fried catfish, but the atmosphere is great and the food is always incredibly good. I blogged about a recent trip here.

What’s a lesson you were lucky enough to learn the easy way? Not sure if it’s a lesson, but I try really hard not to make or take bad first impressions of people. I don’t make great first impressions myself, it takes people a while to get to know me and not think I’m horrible or a snob or weird. 🙂 So, I work really hard at not taking bad first impressions of others
Main Course
Where would you like to be 5 years from now? Where I am, happily married, hopefully surrounded by family and friends
Dessert
If you could see the front page of a newspaper from June 2, 2106, what would you imagine the headline might be? Well, would we even have printed newspapers then? With the way technology is progressing, I doubt we’d have printed news on a paper thrown on your driveway by a paper carrier. Having said that, I imagine we’d read about wars, diseases, global warming, new technology, etc. I would like to think that our world then would be better, maybe cures for cancer and other diseases would have been found, maybe we would have learned to live in harmony with others on our planet, but I have my doubts. Who knows.
::Gone Fishin’!::
Onesome: Gone– “Gone with the Wind”? Do you have a new “must see” movie for this Summer? Well, I had several on the list that I thought we might want to see, although none of them are what I consider “must see”. We have seen MI3 and XMen 3 so far, and have not seen The Da Vinci Code yet. I think we both want to go see the new Superman movie that opens in a few weeks also. Oh, and I definitely want to see the new Pirates of the Caribbean movie, loved the first one!
Twosome: Fish– Do you fish? What, where (and who cleans
Threesome: in’– coming! Do you have any Summer visitors headed your way? …or are you the one(s) doing the traveling? Suzanne was just here for a few days, and Gail and Don come some, so Don and Tim can play golf. We don’t have any “big” visitors coming for any length of time for the rest of the summer, that I know of. 🙂 We normally go somewhere in July, but so far we’ve been unable to plan a trip this year. Maybe later!
We were out of town and busy the whole long holiday weekend, so I missed a couple of favorite memes. Time to do some catch-up! 😆
From Sunday…
~Tastes of Summer~
By the Way…
Which do you prefer?
watermelon, canteloupe, or peaches? watermelon
snowcones, popsicles, or an ice cream cone? ice cream cone
ice tea, lemonade, or a soda? iced tea
grilled hot dogs, hamburgers, or chicken? hot dogs!
And from Monday… the Manic Monday Meme:
The Ever Edition
1. Have you ever listened in on a private conversation? Not intentionally
2. Have you ever purposely taken a walk in the rain? Absolutely!
3. Have you ever avoided doing something because of a superstition? Yup, afraid so. I prefer not to walk under ladders, go down a street where a black cat crossed, etc. Silly, I know, but true.
4. Have you ever been on the radio? Yes, many times. I have won lots of things on the radio over the years including food, concert tickets, CD’s, and most notably, 2 trips (one to the Bahamas when I was a teenager and one to Dallas for a concert a few years ago). I love winning stuff!

Feast Ninety-Five
Appetizer
How old were you when you got your first credit card? One all of my own? 21, right out of college. It’s still the one I use most today. There are a couple of other places that ahem, turned me down, for a credit card. Retail stores. Bad stores. 🙄
Soup
When was the last time you felt out of place? Well, this happens a lot. Not sure exactly, but one occasion that springs to mind is on Mother’s Day Sunday, in church, when they are singling out all the mothers. I hate that. I hate being reminded that I will never be a mother and I have this huge stigma that follows me wherever I go.
Salad
Did you have a curfew when you were a teenager? If so, what time did you have to be home? I think when I was first driving, it was probably more like 10 PM (very strict parents). Maybe by the time I was in college (but home on breaks), it was maybe more like midnight. I rarely, if ever, broke it. I was a good girl 😆
Main Course
Name a person from history with whom you feel you have something in common. Whew, this is a toughie. I thought briefly of wimping out, since I couldn’t come up with anything. I mean, it’s a great question, but let’s face it – people in history are noted for something – strength, fierceness, nobility of character, bravery, etc, and those are not traits I possess. 🙂 The only thing I could come up with is maybe Betsy Ross – not for sewing the flag, but because she was very patriotic. I think I’m very patriotic. 🙂
Dessert
When you read a newspaper, which section do you go for first? The front page, I start at the front and methodically work my way to the back, in order. Would you expect any less of a slightly obsessive-compulsive sort like me?!
::Last Day of School::
Onesome- Last: What’s the last thing you do each day before heading to bed? Do you sit down with a cup of herbal tea? Read a bit? What’s your evening routine? Do you settle in early or are you a night owl, winding down long after the rest of the household is in bed? After I’m finished with TV or a movie for the night, I go shut my computer down, then clean up (wash face, brush teeth, etc). I climb into bed and read for a while, until my eyes get heavy or bleary! 🙂
Twosome- Day: How do you start off your day? Do you stumble to the kitchen and turn on the coffee maker in a sleepy haze? Or do you wake up refreshed and rarin’ to go? Maybe somewhere in the middle? Well, it depends, we have an odd schedule. If it’s a “regular” day with Tim either going into the office or working from home, we usually get up and go walking (2 miles). Then we come back and eat breakfast, etc. If we don’t go walking, I usually get up and help get things ready for Tim, to head out to work, make the bed, etc. I guess I’m somewhere in the middle!
Threesome- of School: What’s your fondest school memory? Whether it be from childhood or college, let us know! I have fond memories of the being on the drill team in high school, and hanging out with friends in the dorm in college. Nothing really spectacular jumps out and comes to mind right now.
Simple Things…
How many simple things have you learned to appreciate more, for one reason or another? Please list them and feel free to elaborate on each.
Oh my, this could be a long list! Here’s a few things off the top of my head:
1. Watching the birds on the fence and at their bird feeders
2. Watching the squirrels play and eat corn at their own feeder
3. Listen to the birds singing
4. Listen to the geese quacking on the way to the lake in our subdivision, as they fly over our house
5. Fresh warm sheets and towels, right out of the dryer, love the way they smell

Feast Ninety-Four
Appetizer
What is the last thing you had to have repaired? I can’t think of a single thing. We haven’t had to take cars in, or have an appliance or any thing in the house worked on. Drawing a total blank!
Soup
If someone gave you $2,000 with the stipulation that you had to spend half of it on yourself and give the rest to charity, where would you spend the $1,000 and which charity would receive your remaining $1,000? I’d probably put the $1,000 of mine either towards a big screen TV for Tim or a new kitchen appliance for me (oven, dishwasher or refrigerator). As for the charitable portion, I’d either give it to the local animal rescue league or to the American Lung Association
Salad
What is one of your favorite songs from the 1980s? Wow, this is my timeperiod for music! Very hard to pick. I’d probably pick either “Livin on a Prayer” by Bon Jovi or “Pour Some Sugar on Me” by Def Leppard
Main Course
You enter a pet store. Which section do you go to first? Puppy Dog stuff usually, although these days, I might have to look at the bird feeders. I really want a dog, soon, badly, very much. 😕
Dessert

Salad
Name something you are 100% sure of. That Jesus died for my sins
Main Course
What is something you do to calm yourself when you’re stressed or upset? Some deep breathing (in through the nose, out through the mouth). Also, getting away from whatever or whoever is stressing me out helps sometimes
Dessert
If you could receive an invitation to any important event, what would you like it to be? Well, it’s not an “important” event, but I’ve always wanted to go to the 4 Grand Slam tennis tournaments. Wimbledon would be my first choice, the French at Roland Garros my second
Pop Culture Pesonality Quiz
I’m trying something a little different this week. Not really for any specific reason, other than to be manic on Manic Monday.

2) If I were to be on “American Idol” my audition song would be nothing. I would never audition. I can’t carry a tune in a bucket.
3) Choose One:

Window Seat/Aisle Seat
Desperate Housewives/Soprano’s
4) After a long hard day, I like to kick back with mindless TV shows like Survivor, Amazing Race, NCIS, House, etc.

Name one thing you want to accomplish in your lifetime. Being a great wife
As seen on Bill‘s blog “View From the Bench”, a meme from this site:
01) Lawyer or accountant? Oooh, accountant. I’m a penny pincher, a math major and a stickler for finances
02) Dentist or family doctor? Neither, but if forced to pick, probably dentist. I can nag about flossing a lot better than tend to bleeding wounds 🙂
03) Chiropractor or massage therapist?Massage Therapist, definitely
04) Engineer or architect? Engineer (more of that math and computer background)
05) Sports announcer or news meteorologist? Meteorologist (especially considering how much of The Weather Channel I watch!)
06) Garbage collector or sewage system inspector? Garbage collector. I’m a packrat, plain and simple
07) Plumber or electrician? Neither. Period. You can’t make me decide between those 2, more one than the other.
08) Lead hand/foreman or supervisor/manager? Supervisor/Manager
09) Astronomer or astrologist? Astronomer. I love space, planets, comets, meteors. I try to catch the Perseid’s and Leonid’s every year 🙂
10) Advice column writer or editorial column writer? Advice Column Writer (what woman isn’t?!)
::Wuthering Heights (and lows)::
Onesome: Wuthering– What kind of word is that anyway? Do you have a word you think is just strange? “Kangaroo” comes to mind
Twosome: Heights– Are you afraid of them or can you dance along the rooftop coping like a character in a movie? I’m scared of heights. I’m semi-ok if I’m enclosed (plane, elevator), but if I’m out in the open with just a bridge or a rope or a hand railing, I get pretty scared. I have to grab onto something solid.
Threesome: (and lows)– What kind of insect or bug sends you low and scurrying? Do spiders do that to you? Wasps? …or do you just squish everything that “bugs” you? I don’t like spiders, but I will squish them and kill them. Same with beetles, earwigs and roaches. I don’t like snakes, lizards or frogs, but those aren’t insects or bugs. I am scared of flying, stinging things like wasps and bees. I can’t ever remember being stung, but I’m always afraid this is going to be the first time. My sister is allergic to them and I’m always afraid that I am also and I just don’t know it yet!
