Exceedingly Mundane

Simple Things…

How many simple things have you learned to appreciate more, for one reason or another? Please list them and feel free to elaborate on each.

Oh my, this could be a long list! Here’s a few things off the top of my head:

1. Watching the birds on the fence and at their bird feeders

2. Watching the squirrels play and eat corn at their own feeder

3. Listen to the birds singing

4. Listen to the geese quacking on the way to the lake in our subdivision, as they fly over our house

5. Fresh warm sheets and towels, right out of the dryer, love the way they smell

6. Having coffee with Tim in the mornings

7. Curling up by the fire in the winter, in one of our big chairs, and reading a book

8. Sitting out back in the shade with a book, while Tim hits his golf balls back and forth

9. Going to the library and reveling in all the books 🙂

10. Stopping for a shake at Sonic just because

11. Having popcorn with butter at the movies!

12. Watching things bloom and grow in the spring

13. Opening the windows on a cool fall day or cool spring day and feeling the fresh air and fresh breeze come in the house

14. A really cold root beer or icee on a summer day

15. Finding a penny or nickel on the ground – I think my mom throws them down for me, an old email I read years ago about angels and now that she’s gone, I think she throws them down for me 🙂

16. I used to love sitting on the steps of our deck with my puppy dog. She’d nose my ears or lay down and put her head in my lap. I miss her terribly.

17. Lighting one of my Yankee Candles, especially if it’s a new or favorite scent. Yum!

OK, I guess that’s enough… I could come up with tons more. Maybe they are not the kinds of things that this meme was looking for, but they are the sweet, simple things in life that I love best. 🙂
