Trent sent me a few more pictures of Grayson and Ava Clair. Such cutie pies! They are in their album now, go check them out. 3 of them are of Ava Clair enjoying her food and 2 of the kids in the tub. 😀

1. Do you have an iPod/mP3 player? If so, what kind? Yes, I have an Ipod, 30 gig photo that I LOVE 😀
2. How many songs are on your player and of those, how many did you purchase online? about 1100 or 1200 right now, and a very small percentage of those were purchased online. I’m going to buy 2 albums soon though, so my online purchases are going up soon. 😉
3. Do you tend to listen to a certain type of music when you are sad/down? If so, describe: Hmmm, I guess sappy songs or sad songs. Not sure. I think when I’m down, I don’t tend to listen to music, I usually stare at the TV or read.
4. How much memory does your player have? Do you think it is too little, just right or way too much? I have a 30 gig. It’s enough for me, but I wish it was the video model and not the photo…. not that I’d pay 1.99 for episodes of Lost or Battlestar Galactica, but I think it’s cool. 🙂
5. What two types of music (jazz, pop, country, rap, etc.) do you listen to more than other types? Country and Pop
And, here’s a bonus – a picture of my beloved iPod, with the red Tough Skin that Tim got me for my birthday. I love it, because I’m clumsy and klutzy and I feel like when I drop or bang my iPod now, it will survive with its Tough Skin keeping it safe. 🙂
Happy Anniversary to my little blog “Exceedingly Mundane” – I’m celebrating my one year anniversary today. A year ago, I put my first blog entry online here at Hambones. Previously, I had been using the Journal feature on the main website, but I was very limited in what I could do. So, I looked around, did a lot of research, and settled on WordPress to use for the software. Tim helped me get it all setup, and a year ago today, I typed up my first entry.
And the rest, as they say, is history. 🙄
I should have never blogged yesterday that I was totally caught up on photos. Sigh. I was months behind, and I finally got all of my pictures uploaded to the Hambones website. Then, last night, Trent and Kathryn both emailed me new pictures of their kids, my great nieces and nephews, so now I have a few more to load. They are sooo cute! 😀 I will try to do that later today, and put an update here when they are done. {Kathryn emailed most everyone her pictures, so they won’t be a surprise to most of that side of the family. 🙂 }
UPDATE: Ok, whew, I’m all caught up again! Some new pics of Grayson and Ava Clair are up in their photo album, and pictures of our 3 week old beauty Katelyn Ray are in hers. Go check ’em out 😀
OK, I think I’m nearly caught up now… I had been really behind on uploading photos to the Photos sections of Hambones. Same with writing up reviews. I just entered 6 reviews in the Reviews section of Hambones. There’s 2 for books (Light from Heaven and True Believer), 2 for movies we saw at the theater (Last Holiday and Glory Road) and 2 for DVD’s we have rented recently (Two for the Money and The Wedding Date).
Also, I think I’m totally current on photos. I have uploaded the ones from Ethan’s birthday party last November, Thanksgiving, misc December pictures, Christmas, the Hammons family dinner in early January, and Abby’s 1st birthday party last weekend. If you’re a registered user of Hambones, you can go check those out in their respective photo albums.
Whew – feels good to get caught up! 😀
I was reading this article in today’s local section of the paper about our new Grandview Theater that is opening in Madison in mid-February (actually, on Gail’s birthday!!). I hope the link works, but I know that if it does, it will only be for a short time. I don’t think the Clarion Ledger or MCH keeps story content on their website for more than a week.
Anyway, it’s part of the Malco theater chain and it’s supposed to be really nice. We had initially heard it was going to have a strict dress code and an Internet cafe, but from what I’m reading in the paper, that’s not exactly correct. The dress code is apparently still be discussed. Here’s what it does say about the other amenities at our new theater:
“The 17 screen theater, which cost approximately $14 million to build, offers all stadium seating, state-of-the-art digital sound, expanded concessions, an arcade, party rooms and an Internet cafe. The Italian style lobby, complete with fountain, strives to provide a ‘five-star hotel atmosphere’. Couches and chairs in the lobby will provide seating as patrons wait for movies. One side of the lobby offers a room with a fireplace and tables for customers to sit and eat chicken fingers, mozzarella sticks and pizza from the menu at the concession stand, or desserts from the dessert case. Across the lobby is a room offering Internet availability. ‘We’ll have computers on the tables so people can check their email and surf the Web while they’re waiting for their movie’. The capacity for the theater is about 3200-3300. The 2 largest screening rooms seat 334 each.”
Also, tickets here will be more expensive than what we pay at Northpark or Parkway – it will be $6 for tickets before 6 PM and $8 for after.
Anyway, we’re really excited to have it, and have it so close by. Can’t wait to see what they have showing the first couple of weeks; I hope we get to go soon after it opens! 🙂
Tim installed this little program on our Hambones server a while back, so that we could see where we were getting hits from. It includes a country section. Whenever I think about it, I go and look at the countries that have recently visited our site. Now, for most websites, this wouldn’t be a big deal. Most sites are on all the search engines, and they get hits from all over the place. But – we have our site restricted, and the search engines, such as Google, don’t mine our site. So, it’s “under the radar”, so to speak. I always think it’s so cool when people from other countries find our little friends and family website.
If you’d like to see, click on the extended entry, and you can see what countries have visited our site, in December and January. Also, there’s a little geography question at the end.
Katelyn Ray:
Gail and Jeremy sent us some pictures over the weekend. Yeah! Jeremy also has an adorable website set up for Katelyn, and it has some great photos and also some videos he shot with his camcorder. I have loaded the pictures of Katelyn Ray in her photo album on Hambones.org. I still have so many other photos to load though, I’m about 3 months behind now! {My apologies that the pictures from Ethan’s birthday party, Thanksgiving, December, Christmas, January, the Hammons family dinner, Don’s first deer, etc are not loaded yet. I hope to get time to work on those this week.}
Click the extended entry below to see a couple of more pictures, and go to Katelyn’s website and the Hambones photo section to see the rest!
Happy Birthday Trent! We hope you have a great day, and a wonderful year!!!
OK, I don’t do New Years Resolutions, but if I did, it would have to be one like this:
In the year 2006 I resolve to: |
And yes, I had to click a bunch of times until I found one that wasn’t outrageous and would actually fit “me”. 😀 Saw this on a girl’s blog while blog surfing this morning…
Most people who know me, know that I have a new obsession with Yankee Candles. Tim has been an absolute darling this year, in indulging me in my new passion. On my birthday, he went to the Yankee Candle store and hand picked a new one for me – Almond Toffee (divine!). This year for Christmas, he outdid himself again – he got me two of the largest jar candles!
Look what I got – Jack Frost and Farmhouse Apple!!!!!
Go here and see what President Bush listens to on his iPod. He’s my kind of guy, we have some of the same music! 🙂
Check it out soon, you never know how long the link will work… they seem to expire quickly these days 🙂
I knew I had been good this year! This just proves it! 😀
Gotta love the Internet – click here for a link to a live “tree cam” of the Rockefeller Christmas Tree in New York City. You might need to click on Holiday under Channels on the top left, then Live Tree Cam in the top right if the link doesn’t take you directly there (which it probably won’t!). As an added bonus, it plays some nice Christmas music too 🙂
Ho, Ho, Ho and Merry Christmas!
I missed almost all of today’s show…we were up very late and we slept in a little. Today, Matt traveled to the Dalmation coast, Dubrovnik Croatia. I will have to go to the Today Show website later today and look at the videos, as I missed most of it.
