Grayson is a Cowboy

Shanna sent me more cute pictures earlier today, so I had to upload them to the Photo Gallery at Hambones. There are two more adorable pictures of Grayson (yes, I know, I’m biased). One is of him dressed for “Go Texan” day at Church, and he’s wearing Trent’s old cowboy shirt he had when he was that age! That is too cute! The other picture is my new favorite in the Gallery – a terrific picture of Grayson and Shanna. Go check them out, they are soooo good!

Editorial Note

Hey, anybody that is out there reading this… if the pictures are not showing up properly (as in overlapping), it may be because I am sizing them for the current “style” that I am using. I thought I had figured out the software, where to set the default style, but it’s either not working, or else, if you change the style on your end, you don’t pick up the style I’ve set for my blog.

If you’re still seeing the Pink Lilies style, that’s fine, but I’m currently using Fresh Mondrian. I’m sizing the pictures to fit in there…. so, you can scroll down the sidebar until you see the drop down box for Style, and pick Fresh Mondrian.

Hope that helps!!

Saturday Work

We started working on a new project this morning. We’ve picked out a new border for our master bathroom. It is a beige and burgundy one that will go a lot better with the new comforter and bedroom stuff we got last fall (old stuff was blues and greens, the new stuff is burgundy, green and gold palette). So, this morning we started taking down the old wallpaper border.

After just a couple hours of work, we have the border down! Tim is going to do a bit of woodworking while I clean up, and then we’re headed out the door. Got a few errands to run, and mostly, we just want to get out in the sunshine. Today is a pretty day, although a bit windy. It’s already in the upper 7o’s with lots of sunshine, so it feels like spring. No day to stay inside all day doing wallpaper! 🙂

Happy Anniversary

Tim and I celebrated our ninth wedding anniversary yesterday. I was afraid he had forgotten again, so I decided to buy my own flowers… 🙂 I got these pretty purple irises at the grocery store where I stopped to pick up potatoes and salad stuff to go along with the flank steak I had marinating at home.

They look like spring to me!

flowers

I was going to buy Tim a set of router bits that he had found at Home Depot, but he found a cheaper set last weekend at Harbor Freight and bought them. So, I didn’t get him anything else, because I figured he had not gotten me anything. Wrong. He surprised me with this:

Calphalon

I’ve got to get busy and get them washed and figure out where to put them. I am probably going to hang on to a couple of pieces of my older cookware for a while, and I am really out of space in my cabinets in the kitchen. Plus, the ad in Kohl’s this week (this is the set of Calphalon that is made exclusively for Kohl’s and sold only there), showed that if you bought a set, you get a free 4 qt Dutch oven. Well, Tim didn’t know about that and no one mentioned it at the store. So, we’re going to run out there today and see if they will honor the ad. I might also pick up another piece or two! There are several individual pieces in this line that I will want to get eventually. They have a wok (I use mine a lot), several griddles and grill pans, and an everyday pan. I will have to save up to get the 4 quart saucepan, but I will need that one eventually.

Brett will be back

YEA! Heard on the news tonight that my man, Brett Favre, will return to play football for the Green Bay Packers again this coming season. Yeee-hawwww! I’m so glad he’s going to play at least one more year. Now I can watch him and my boy Peyton play 😀

Bed Bugs

I think I’m starting to get a bit of spring fever, and in a bit of a spring cleaning mode. Of course, today is not a great day for that. I prefer to do spring cleaning stuff on days that are sunny and warm, and I can open the windows and smell the fresh clean air. Today is cloudy, grey and supposed to rain later. Not to mention it’s in the low 50’s, which ain’t really like spring!

Anyway, I spent about 30 minutes this morning vacuuming my mattress and under the bed! I think I got about 1 to 1 1/2 inches of dust and gunk in the canister of my vacuum (most of that was up under the headboard, near the wall, and I must have banged my head 4 or 5 times trying to reach up under there). ICK! I took the sheets and mattress cover off and washed them this morning, and got all industrious and decided to try vacuuming the mattress. I saw This show on Oprah and I shudder every time I think about it. Yuck, tiny microscopic bed bugs crawling around in my mattress while I’m sleeping on it. Anyway, I hope it worked. I think I about blew out the motor on the vacuum cleaner 🙂 trying to get them out!

More Pictures!

Since I was 12 years old and got my very first camera, I have loved, loved, loved pictures. That still holds true today. I love taking them, I love seeing them, I love putting them in scrapbooks and photo albums, I love looking at all of my digital prints on the computer. And now that we have the Hambones website, I LOVE to put them out there for everyone to see. 😀

I’m so glad people are emailing me pictures to share. Amanda sent some the other day of the Ethan & Abby, and Trent and Shanna sent some of Grayson & Ava Clair, etc. I put two new ones out last night of Grayson that are just adorable. And this morning, I was very happy to look in my inbox and find a bunch from David’s baptism this past Sunday in Indianola. Gail took several of the service and a bunch of great family pics in front of the fireplace. Thanks for sharing them with me Gail! 🙂 I just wish we could have been there…. sigh.

So, go check out all the new pictures when you have time!

Grayson, the Superhero

Trent just sent me two of the cutest pictures of Grayson! He said that he likes to wear this hooded towel like a cape, to fly around… he has special binoculars for playing his spying game, and he wears socks on his hands when he wants to be a cat. These pictures show him with all of them on, the ultimate superhero! Grayson the Magnificent!

Go check it out in their album in the Photo Gallery on Hambones. Cute, Cute, Cute!

Visiting the Cemetery

Yesterday Tim and I went to Lakewood Cemetery to check on Dodie’s grave. It was such a pretty day, all sunny and warm and hardly a cloud in the sky. There were a lot of people out at the cemetery, doing what we were doing. We put new, fresh flowers on Dodie’s grave. I had picked out some that I thought were really springy, yellow and purple ones. Click the (More)… button to see a picture of them. 🙂

After we finished putting out the flowers, we were walking back to the car and saw Fred drive up. He was on his way home from Gail’s house in Indianola and we knew he was thinking of stopping there. So it was really good to see him again and visit with him a bit at the cemetery.

a New Pedometer

Forgot to mention that I finally got a new pedometer yesterday. Found one at Walmart that I sort of liked. It is a bit different from my other one that I loved (thank you Suzie!), but I think I will like this one too. I still have to set my stride on it, and as such, I have not worn it yet. I should have worn it today, since we did a ton of walking all day. Oh well, I know I got close or over my 10,000 steps today.

Anyway, it’s a Sportline brand from Walmart, and I like that when I flip the case down, I can see my steps. I had to turn my other one upside down to see it, or take it off. I think that helped with my cracked clip problem. Also, this one doesn’t have the same kind of clip-on clip. It has a clip more like a clothespin, if that makes sense, and Tim and I think with the little spring, hopefully it will hold up better. If not, I guess I will just have to keep buying them until I find one I like and that lasts!

Call me geeky, but I really like wearing one every day. It seems to be a visual reminder to me to get up, move around, keep walking and moving. It really does seem to help me, and hey, ain’t that what it’s all about?

P.S. For any of you that might be interested, it’s almost identical to This one. I found it at Walmart for less than half that price, and it’s labeled “Go Walking” by Sportline, but it looks identical, same color, sort of see-through, same buttons, same features. Whole lot cheaper though!

Yippppeeeee!

I had IM’d with Tim earlier this afternoon and told him it was a pretty day, he had been working a lot late at night, and could he take off a bit early and play hooky? He said he was busy working on stuff, but he was going to try.

He just got home – a WHOLE hour early! Yippppeeeee!

I just got back from Walmart, and now we’re headed out to Lakeland to check out the new Kohl’s, the new Lowe’s and go eat supper out there somewhere. Can’t wait! 😀

Poor Tim

Well, it was another long night. Poor Tim. He’s half sick and is on-call and keeps getting called out in the middle of the night. I honestly don’t know how he does it. He is in the middle of a deep sleep at 3 in the morning, the on-call phone rings, he jumps up and starts working. His throat was so sore, he could barely talk. Poor thing. We slept in, needless to say, this morning so he could get a little more sleep before heading into work.

As the old story goes, there’s good news and bad news. The good news is that technically he goes off-call today, for another two weeks. However, he told me this morning that his boss has guard duty this weekend, so Tim would more than likely get called anyway. Plus, he’s been warning me for weeks that they have been in sort of a “code-freeze”. They haven’t been putting in much new code on Tuesday nights at 11 PM since the holidays. Now, it seems, they are going to put in a whole bunch at one time. Tim said that starting next week, he would be working almost every single night, starting about 11 PM or so, to put in new code. I said, is it just for a few days? No, he said, it’s going to take at least a couple of weeks, maybe more. Poor thing, he is not going to keep a normal schedule for a while longer yet.

So – the moral of the story here is, for those of you reading this who might be tempted to call early in the morning any time soon… Please Don’t. Call after lunch! We’d both really appreciate it!

Don’t Need to “Work from Home”

Well, Tim doesn’t need to “work from home” on a regular basis. He didn’t go in to work yesterday because he was feeling bad, so he “worked from home”. Last night at 8:45, I asked him how much longer he was going to work, and he said “I’m almost finished”. Good grief. At least when he goes into the office, he finishes up between 5 and 6 PM. Working from home, apparently to a Type-A personality, means working till you go to sleep. 👿
