Last Day of “Vacation”

We actually arrived back home last night from our trip to DC, but we still had today off, so we consider this a vacation day too! Tim doesn’t have to go back into the office till Thursday, so we had today to play too. Fun!

We slept late (8 AM), then got up and went walking. After we got back, we started working outside. Our grass is withered and has tons of brown spots. We watered for over 2 1/2 hours and it is still dry and brown in places, but better than it was! We asked one of the neighbors this evening, and he said we didn’t get a single drop of rain the whole week we were gone! Tropical Storm Cindy blew into the coast this morning, but we didn’t get any rain from her, it all went east of us.

Anyway, Tim cut the grass and helped me with some stuff outside. I watered all the flowers and dead headed some. Most of the flowers appear to be springing back. We’ve lost a couple though, that will need to be replanted. Most surprising is that we appear to have lost all of the lorapetalum we relocated a month or so ago. I hate that, they were so pretty especially in the spring. Oh well, we want to rework that entire flower bed anyway. Three dead shrubs, could be worse!

We set out after lunch to run errands. At the top of Tim’s list these days is upgrading Hambones (our main site). We ordered a software upgrade before we left, and he installed that a couple of weeks ago. Today, we bought a huge hard drive (250 gig) for the main site, and we are going to order a bigger drive for the backup/development site. We bought a new UPS and more memory for the backup box. Money, money, money. Where does it come from and how can we get more?! 🙂

Tim was also very sweet and tagged along with me to Walmart to get groceries. We didn’t have a thing in the house, no milk, no OJ, no bread, no eggs, no fruit or fresh veggies. I’m happy to report that we are restocked now!

Tim just installed the new hard drive and the site is back up. Hooray!!!! 😀

Gotta love a hubby who is so good at so many things!
