QOTD: Toothpaste

I’ve gotten into a habit of asking a “Question of the Day” here at my blog. How I got into the habit of doing it, I will never know. But I really enjoy hearing what other people think about things, big or small, or what items you use in your daily life or how you feel about certain products, or current events or lots of other things. 🙂 I think it’s a great way to learn about my blog friends, share a little something about myself, as well as see how many things we share in common vs things we are different about. That’s one thing I’ve definitely learned as I’ve aged – we all have a lot more in common than we think, and we all have differences. God made us unique, in big ways and small, and I like exploring that.

So, in keeping with the title of my blog, today’s Question of the Day is just about as mundane as you can get 😀 What kind of toothpaste do you use? I have always really liked it that when Tim and I got married, we never had issues with the toothpaste. The toilet seat going up and down, yes, that’s a big one in our house, but the toothpaste has never been an issue. We both use Crest and tend to like the same type flavors and textures. We’ve transitioned to gel over the last few years, but both grew up with plain old paste. We’re both kind of funny about the toothpaste tube. Tim is just as likely as his OCD-wife to squeeze from the middle, but then be diligent about squeezing it up and keeping it near the top. 🙂

OK, so how about you? Do you use one kind in your house and everyone is happy, or do you buy multiple brands, multiple flavors, multiple kinds? Have you ever changed because someone else was using a different kind and it was just easier to switch? Do you even care?! LOL! Leave me a comment and let me know!

  1. cam Said,

We use Aquafresh because it is by far the cheapest brand, and that’s what matters most to me. Every now and then I’ll get a coupon for another brand that makes it cheaper than Aquafresh, and then I’ll get that brand. Whatever is cheapest is the criteria. And of course, it has to have fluoride.
I buy the regular Aquafresh, but I also keep a tube of Sensitive Aquafresh around, because when I get a toothache, it helps make the pain subside and the toothache will usually go away in a few days.
We also squeeze from the middle while it’s full, but once it starts getting low, I’ll pull the tube along a sharp edged countertop and push all the paste up to the top, and then we start using it from the top.

  2. Kimmy Said,

    Crest, whitening!

  3. Claire Said,

I use crest pro-health and definitely squeeze from the bottom! Of course, no one else is around to mess me up either!

  4. Lauren@Baseballsandbows Said,

My husband and I have never shared toothpaste, and I don’t even know what he uses! Ever since I had some dental work last year, I have been using Sensodyne because I was having some sensitivity issues. It is more expensive, but worth it because it got rid of the pain!

  5. Deanna Said,

I don’t share items in the bathroom. The bathroom grosses me out! I use Crest Pro-Health.

  6. Desert Songbird Said,

Hey! Your blog loaded lickedy split!

Funny question. When hubby and I met, he was using Crest paste, and I was using Colgate paste. It’s what we knew, and what we liked. We never quit our individual preferences.

Fast forward 22 years, and now I still use Colgate TOTAL paste. The kids use Colgate TOTAL gel; hubby uses Sensodyne gel. I will use gel, but I prefer paste. The kids prefer gel, as does hubby. I will buy everyone their preferred product because if that’s what it takes to get everyone to take care of the teeth, then so be it!

  7. Karen Said,

I’d always preferred Colgate, but when we got married, Hubs like Aquafresh, so I eventually switched. It was just easier. But I still like Colgate better:)

  8. mamichelle Said,

    I love your QOTDs, Stacy!

I grew up using Crest. Don’t know why but I changed about 10 yrs. ago to Colgate. I use Multicare something-or-other. My hubby stuck with Crest.

[WORDPRESS HASHCASH] The poster sent us ‘0 which is not a hashcash value.

  9. Dawn Said,

Crest ProHealth Enamel Shield with Whitening. (Whew. That was a mouthful.) It’s a gel, not a paste. I don’t like the way a paste feels after I brush. And I get what I want because no one uses it but me. 😉

  10. Shelby Said,

Crest ProHealth Enamel with scope mouthwash…
