Ok, I’m obviously running out of things to blog about! I am constantly drawn to food blogs, recipes, cookbooks, grocery stores, food, Food Network, shows on the Travel Channel about food, etc. To say I love to eat is a gross understatement. To say I love to cook is apt on some days, and on other days, couldn’t be farther from the truth.
Today has been a good day. I’ve cooked twice, LOL! I made a loaf of banana bread and some potato soup for supper. We had sandwiches for lunch, and I had oatmeal for breakfast.
How about you, what did you eat today? Do you have something that you eat every day or something that you have on certain days like Saturday or Sunday?
Leave me a comment and let me know!
HI STACY, I KNOW IT’S BEEN A WHILE SINCE I COMMENTED ON YOUR BLOG. HOPE YOU HAD A GREAT CHRISTMAS, AND A VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU AND YOUR FAMILY. FOOD IS MY DOWN FALL, I EAT TO MUCH OF IT. USUALLY ON SUNDAY MY DAUGHTER JACKIE MAKES EGGS, BACON OR HAM, FRIED POTATOES, PAT HER HUSBAND ALWAYS GOES OUT SUNDAY MORNING AND GET ROLLS, BAGELS, DOUGHNUTS, AND A COFFEE CAKE. CREAM CHEESE FOR THE BAGELS, MARMALADE, OR STRAWBERRY JAM. MATTIE, ONE OF THE TWINS, 9 YEARS OLD, SQUEEZES ORANGES FOR A FRESH GLASS OF ORANGE JUICE. SHE HAS A POT OF COFFEE GOING, THE TEA KETTLE IS WHISTLING, AND THERE’S HOT CHOCOLATE AND MARSHMALLOWS FOR THE KIDS. THIS IS ONLY SUNDAY MORNING, IT’S GREAT AND YUMMY. COME VISIT ME AT GIFTS FROM THE SEA. RIZZI
I eat healthy foods all week long, and then on Saturday nights, we have “Saturday night food”, which is whatever Philip and/or I have been craving. Calories, fat, and healthiness do not apply to this once-a-week meal. Gray usually has what we’re having, but if he doesn’t like it (like when we choose Chinese food), he gets his own “unhealthy” meal. Usually he chooses french fries and Coke. We make a fun night of it (it’s our family night) and turn the satellite to the Sirius music channels, where we play a game where the first person to name the artist on each channel (there are about 30 channels) gets one point, and the person with the most points in the end wins. We’ve done this for years, even before we had Gray, and not only is it fun, it helps keep me on track whenever I’m losing weight or keeping weight off. If I have one night a week to look forward to eating whatever I want, then I am able to pretty painlessly eat healthfully all week long.
HI Stacy, hmmmm, what did I eat today? For breakfast, a piece of biscotti and coffee. For lunch, a boring lean cuisine meal and an orange. Then I splurged and ate two chocolate truffles. Snack was a Yoplait FF yogurt–cherry cobbler. YUMMY! Dinner was grilled chicken and steamed vegetables. At bible class tonight, I gave in and had one of those big chocolate chip cookies.
On special days and relaxing Saturday mornings, I really like a fresh donut from the local donut shop for breakfast, esp. with a freshly brewed cup of coffee. Don’t do the donuts every Saturday morning even though the donut shop is very close to home. I used to eat a Nature VAlley Oats n Honey granola bar (well, there’s two in the package) every morning for breakfast. I’m really trying to get out of that habit and eat something more nutritious with protein and/or fiber.
Fun topic!
Hehe, I love your posts about food! By the way I got Grocery IQ and I am really liking it so far. I think it will be perfect! I didn’t eat anything this morning, but we grabbed some Taco Bell for lunch, and for dinner I made our favorite crockpot Mac & Cheese (recipe on FB) and some green beans. Food isn’t really a big deal in our house. In most of 2009 Kyle was dieting, and Andrew rarely eats exactly what we eat, so it’s kind of haphazard. I enjoy cooking here and there but can’t manage it as often as some people do – twice a week is usually doing really good for me. Almost every Saturday morning, my mom and brother and I go out to a local buffet – one of the perks of living in Reno, I suppose. 🙂
I have to be honest, I HATE to cook!! I love to eat though!! During the week I have Kashi for breakfast and a salad for lunch (of course there are snacks I won’t mention). For dinner I typically cook chicken or pork in a healthy way and we have that with vegetables. During the weekend, my hubby cooks breakfast – sometimes a Quinno McMuffin, as he calls it, and sometimes cheesy scrambled eggs, home fries and bacon. For dinner, we kind of wing it. I never cook on Fri. night. We typically roast a whole chicken on Sunday. It really depends on my mood and diet at the time.
I have managed to catch some kind of crud so the only thing I have been interested in is hot soothing drinks and crackers.
I eat Honey Bunches of Oats with almonds for breakfast every morning. I am a creature of habit! I like to cook, but I am often a slacker. When Adam is traveling, it’s just not worth the trouble!
