Another year, Another jigsaw puzzle

I really like doing jigsaw puzzles around the holidays. They’re cheap, they’re fun, and they are really good for someone like my darling husband (who is very driven, and likes to work on things until they are completed. In other words, type A) 🙂

Here’s the one we did this year. It’s a 1000 piece puzzle, and I must admit that Tim did way more than half of it. It took us a little longer than normal to finish, since we were gone a couple of days over the long holiday weekend. It felt like a big achievement when we finally put in the last piece yesterday!

Isnt it pretty?!

Isn't it pretty?!

So, how about you? Do you enjoy puzzles of any kind? Jigsaw puzzles, crossword puzzles, Sudoku, or any other kind of puzzle game? Leave me a comment and let me know!

  1. mamichelle Said,

    Ooooh, very pretty!

  2. Lauren@Baseballs&Bows Said,

That is very pretty! I used to enjoy doing puzzles, but I haven’t done one in a while. That would be a fun family activity for the winter!

  3. Lynne Said,

Pretty puzzle. I was on a puzzle kick months ago – I think I did about 8 or 9 and then glued them together. I had planned to have them framed and hung in a spare room – until I found out how expensive frames would be! I’m still looking into poster frames for them. And I have 2 new ones – still in the boxes – hidden under my bed.

  4. Dianne Said,

We used to do these often as a family, usually around the holidays or right afterwards. I have half a mind to stop and grab one on the way home for us to do. I’m not into crossword puzzles or Suduko much.

  5. YellowRose Said,

I love puzzles! I have one I was working on, (I have the roll up mat so I can put it away, which is a bad thing because I forget about it) that’s 1000 pieces.

My grandmother and I would work on a puzzle all the time when I was younger. We would stay with her after school, so it was our thing to work on a puzzle. There’s no telling how many we put together!

Yours is beautiful, very detailed, the kind that takes time! Good job!

  6. Karen Said,

I have absolutely no self discipline when it comes to jigsaw puzzles. I’ll let everything go until I’ve finished them. So, I don’t put them out very often!

  7. Belle (from Life of a...) Said,

I’m impressed with your patience…I want to do them…just can’t!! My brain won’t work right…

  8. Lynne Said,

Stacy – come over and claim an award!

  9. annie Said,

    I love doing sudoko

  10. Claire Said,

We did a puzzle and actually finished before I left! I was pretty determined and the first thing I did when I got up the morning I was leaving was go to that puzzle. It was quite exciting!

  11. cam Said,

Nice puzzle! I’m glad you posted it.
I LOVE puzzles. We haven’t done any in years…hopefully once both kids are older we can do them again. Gray likes puzzles and has graduated from 20-pc puzzles to 100-pc puzzles. I LOVE doing those with him! So I’m starting to get to enjoy puzzles again, I guess! 🙂

  12. Debi Said,

Oh, that one is so very pretty! I don’t think I’d ever get Rich to work on a puzzle with me. Unless it was to have him stick in the last piece just to say he’d help. 😉 You can’t get his nose out of a book long enough for something like that. I love puzzles, and have stacks of puzzle books (logic and word puzzles for the most part), but don’t have time to do them these days. But they sit patiently awaiting my return.

  13. Gail Said,

Nice! You know I like doing them and sudoku as well. I would do crossword puzzles but never feel like I can finish one so I sorta gave up. I like to keep a jigsaw puzzle out this time of year to work on but just haven’t done it yet!

  14. JEN Said,

I may go buy us a puzzle to put together as a family. It may be nice. I love yours….pretty colors.

  15. twiga Said,

Nice job! That’s a great looking one too!

  16. Sandra Said,

I love puzzles….you did a great job with this one 🙂

  17. Kim Said,

My husband loves puzzles but we haven’t done one in years. I bought him one this year for Christmas and he and Sam spent one afternoon working on it, but there is a long way to go on it! Yours is beautiful. Do you save them?
I noticed the challenges you have signed up for….you go girl! 🙂 I find them so much fun.
    Have a great Wednesday–
    Kim

  18. Lisa Said,

I love puzzles, but they are not practical at all at our house- two kids and three cats and we’d have more missing pieces than I’d want to look for. I do love Suduko, and a variation- kakuro. We also just found Mancala and are loving a nightly game or two of that.

  19. marianne Said,

ohh, pretty puzzle, Stacy! We love puzzles at our house, especially when other family members visit. I dunno, just seems to be a good ‘magnet’ for togetherness, you know? Crossword puzzles too, and Lew is more into Suduko than I am. I’m more of a word puzzle person.

    Fun stuff!

  20. Sonya Said,

I really do like puzzles but do not put them together as often as I should. I used to do them all the time but stopped because my girls wanted to glue them all together and frame them. We started to run out of places to put them 🙂 Recently, hubby suggested we start doing them again as a family so maybe we’ll do that. Your puzzle is beautiful!
