QOTD – What wakes you up?

Clock

Today’s Question of the Day is in the form of a poll. I think a lot of bloggers simply like to vote and move on, but feel free to leave a comment if you’d like! Today’s poll/QOTD is about what wakes you up in the mornings. Choose one and vote, although I realize that most people might have more than one answer. I wake up naturally most days, because I don’t have to be anyplace at a specific time. But on days where I need to be somewhere early and on Sundays (because we go to an early church service), I have to set my alarm. And then, I am always aggravated that the alarm went off in my ear and woke me up! 🙂

Hope you have a wonderful day, thanks for playing along!

  1. Elizabeth Said,

I have to use an alarm clock or I would never get up on time.
(Since you know I don’t work right now), I just wake up naturally and I love it!

  2. Kimmy Said,

I love that I get to wake up naturally most days! I’m not currently working, so I tend to stay up really late reading and then sleep in;-) Sundays are the exception, since we have to be at church early.

  3. mamichelle Said,

I actually could have used a dual response. I do wake up on my own but it’s at 5:30 and I don’t need to be up until 6 so I doze until the alarm wakes me or until I can’t stand it any longer.

  4. Simply Dawn Said,

Patt has this internal clock or something that he has never used an alarm clock so he wakes me up. So far I’ve never been late to a place I need to be 🙂

  5. annie Said,

I hear Matt turn the shower on every morning. That usually wakes me up. He wakes up at 5 every morning and even if I hear him I try to stay asleep for at least another hour!

  6. Dianne Said,

I too usually wake up naturally, usually by 6am if not earlier. Sometimes I do need the alarm – I always set one, just in case. Once in a blue moon I wish I could actually sleep late but that is rare.

  7. Lynne Said,

Actually what wakes me up is a full bladder! Either mine or the dogs’ – usually both. Maggie will sit by the bed and make a little huffing sound to wake me up to take her out. I can never sleep past 5:30 any more.

  8. Desert Songbird Said,

Although I use an alarm clock to wake (so that I can wake the kids, because they can’t seem to hear their own alarm clocks!), my husband going in the shower or using his electric razor usually wakes me (he goes to work super early).

On Saturdays when I can sleep in, I still naturally wake up at an early hour because I am used to it the other six days of the week.

  9. sherry Said,

I voted “other” — even though I could have voted alarm clock. You see, I use my cell phone to wake me up most of the time! I get up and move from my bed to the recliner sometimes and I need to take the phone with me. I’ve also used the oven timer a few times, and recently discovered that you can set an alarm clock online! I left my phone at my mom’s house so I used my laptop to wake me up! Pretty cool!

    Sherry

  10. Gail Said,

Most days I wake up naturally around 6:30 or so but I almost always set an alarm on my cell phone; lately I stay up too late reading so I might need the alarm.
    Apparently I missed the poll!

  11. Sandra Said,

I have my alarm clock set but I always wake up on my own

  12. Dawn Said,

I had to choose other because it’s a combination. I wake up on my own after 6 hours of sleep. Internal clock. But I have to set my alarm too–just in case. 😉 I miss having a second story in my home. At my Gram’s, I could sleep with my blinds partially open so the sunrise could wake me up naturally–but my bedroom was on the second floor of the house & they lived in the country. No can do, living on the ground floor in the “city” though. =(

  13. Heidi Said,

I really dislike alarm clocks. I actually don’t hear it most of the time (I guess i tune it out) when my husband uses it.

  14. JEN Said,

On Saturdays it would have to be the sun though..

  15. heather Said,

4 nights i do not sleep b/c of my job…however the 3 nights i do the kids are very kind to wake me up usually between 5-7 am
