More Photos

I took a bunch of photos on Saturday, so I thought I’d post a few more 🙂

The shrub roses in our backyard are starting to bloom, and they look so pretty. Both of these are yellow, but for some odd reason, the last two years, one of them blooms red for a while, then switches to yellow blooms. But they were both yellow when we bought and planted them!

Yellow Rose blooming

My mother-in-law gave us some irises several years ago, but we haven’t taken care of them like we should have. I think they’re supposed to be divided every couple of years in the fall, which we have never done. Also, I think with flowers like this, you’re supposed to have part of the root bulb exposed, which we never do. Very few of them bloomed last year, and so far this year, only one single flower has bloomed. It is pretty though!

  1. Dawn Said,

How cool that the one rose changes which color it blooms for you!

  2. deb Said,

The irises around here are blooming…they’re so pretty. Wish I had some in my yard. We planted some dutch iris last year but they haven’t bloomed and I don’t think they’re going to.

Interesting about your pink/yellow rose bush! Pretty pictures, too!

  3. Debi Said,

  5. Lara Said,

beautiful pictures! so soft, all of them 🙂

  6. Gail Said,

Really? Blooms red first and then changes as the summer goes and then it blooms yellow? How interesting! Have you searched around for any reasons why it does that?
I actually love the red one, it’s so pretty……..all those flowers are!
Are those guys sitting on that new cushion you got when I shopped with you last!

  7. Kim Said,

Beautiful flowers! I really liked your Iris picture. It looks like your weather is MUCH nicer than ours right now. We are all sick, sick, sick of winter right now. It is more wintery now than it was in winter! Beau’s picture is adorable and I really chuckled at the one below where he has a hat on. I always wonder what animals think when people dress them up!! 🙂

  8. Shawna Said,

So beautiful. My great-aunt that lived up the road from me as a child (and btw she still does) always had the most beautiful roses and irises plus a lot of other flowers. She was so good at keeping them beautiful. I have a tendency to kill everything.

    Sweet Beau!

  9. Maria Said,
