QOTD – DVD Players

DVD Today’s “Question of the Day” is short and sweet – how many DVD players do you have in your house? The reason that I ask is that mine just broke. Wah! We actually have two in our den, one is a multi-disc player and the other is a combo that includes a DVD recorder. But, we did have a small, cheap one in our bedroom. That way, if I wanted to watch a “girl movie” and Tim was watching something in the den, I could just go in our room. Also, when we have football parties and stuff, it lets us put the kiddos in our room with a Disney movie. That doesn’t happen very often though, so we are considering not replacing the one in our room.

How many DVD players do you have, and in which rooms? How often are they used? We use our den one a lot, because we rent movies from Netflix, so we watch a lot of movies in the den.

Leave me a comment and let me know! And have a wonderful day 🙂

We have two that are hooked up and at least one in a closet somewhere. My hubby is always replacing electronical equipment with something better, even when the old one works fine. 🙂

  2. Sadie Said,

We have two– one in the den and one in the bedroom. The one in the bedroom doesn’t get used much– only if we’re watching something and get sleepy, we might take it upstairs to finish watching in bed. The one in the bedroom also has a VHS player, which I haven’t used in FOREVER, and the den one we got b/c it’s a receiver for our surround sound system. We use that one a lot, we watch movies almost every day.

  3. jen Said,

We have 3 DVD players….one in the family room…one in Madison’s room and one in the front living room…not hooked up. Also one in the car…with dual screens for both kids. We rent alot of movies at the library….

  4. Sadie Said,

Also, you could always hook up your laptop to your TV when you want to watch something in the bedroom. I’ve never done that myself, but it’s possible isn’t it? I think so.

  5. annie Said,

    Let’s see…
    1 in the den.
    2 portables
    3 in bedrooms
    So, 6?

  6. Lynne Said,

We have 2 – one in the living room and one in Shelby’s room that she’ll be taking with her when she moves out. We have a good size stack of DVD’s, but hardly ever watch any.

  7. ZuphChic Said,

We have one in the Great Room, one in the Master Bedroom, one in the Denali and one portable if we take a different car on a trip…not to mention our laptops, video iPods, etc.

    Are we technogeeks or what?!?!?

The DVD player in the bedroom broke just a few months ago and I wasn’t sure if I was going to replace it but when you can get them so cheap (especially at Costco!), it’s a no-brainer!

  8. Gail Said,

One in the den, combo player…and one in tv room, think it’s just the dvd. We took the old combo unit from tv room and put it in my room and I think it only works just the vcr part! So 2 that work pretty good, one combo unit that only works half!

  9. Kim Said,

We own two–very plain basic dvd players. One has a vcr in it, as we still own a lot of movies on vhs that we haven’t replaced with dvds–what a racket and expense!! (said as I rail against the leaps and bounds technology takes–:) ) We use the one in our family room most of the time as we watch movies as a family. The one in the bedroom is mostly for me to watch chick flicks on while all my men watch there stuff in the family room. My husband hates watching movies in bed because he can’t get comfortable. We really should invest in dvd recorder thingy, as we do record some of our shows if we aren’t home when they come on. And can you believe this…we don’t have cable t.v., much to my sons’ consternation. Just get a few basic local channels.

    Have a happy week–
    *smiles*
    Kim

  10. Desert Songbird Said,

Hmmm…lemme see….we’ve got two in the family room, one in the master bedroom, one in the den, and one in the girl’s bedroom. We also have two portable ones. Is that a bit indulgent? *grin*
