Where Does the Time Go?
Have you ever missed an important appointment because you have become so engrossed in a book you forgot the time or were up so late reading that you didn’t wake up in time? Been late to work because you couldn’t resist the temptation and left the house too late?
Well, this sort of ties in to the Randomness meme I did the other day. It was all about being late. Which I try never to be. Not even for reading or for one of my beloved books. I don’t like to be late. I don’t think I’ve ever lost track of time when I was engrossed in a book. I have no problem glancing at a clock or my watch and stopping when I need to stop to go do something, get ready or go leave to be somewhere. I actually don’t sit up late reading and waking up in time is not a problem for me. We have this cool new built-in alarm clock. His name is Beau and he doesn’t let us oversleep in the mornings. Even on Saturday 🙁
Yeah, I don’t think I have ever done anything like that before either. I might have put off doing chores or something like that, but never actually missed an appointment.

I get engrossed in books but don’t think I’ve ever missed an appointment because of reading. I do stay up late reading, will set an alarm to get up but sometimes I will hit snooze a few times when I’ve been up late reading!
I set my drink down on the floor this morning (not smart) so I could tie my daughter’s shoes. My son walked right into the drink and it spilled. He didn’t see it because he had his nose stuck in a book! I was not happy the drink was spilled, but I am so glad he loves to read!
I’m quite particular about punctuality too, and I get stressed when I’m in a rush. LOL.
