These are not all brand new pictures (although most are very recent), but all are of things that I love in my yard. We have a small yard, but we have worked really hard to make it a homey, happy, blooming kind of place in the summer. π I don’t profess to have a green thumb, but I am able to get some things to grow, and I love having other “stuff’ in my yard – bird feeders, bird baths, and what can be nicely called “yard art”. π
Enjoy, and thanks for stopping by!
1. I have impatiens every where I have shade, in one flower bed and a couple of pots. Here’s a hanging basket of them in a tree, that I love – it’s blooming nicely this year:
2. A new bird bath that hangs on a hook; we bought it this summer:
3. I really love watching the squirrels eat their corn from their feeder (yep, I’m weird that way!):
4. My pink moss rose is blooming well this summer:
#5 through #13 on the extended page….
5. We bought 2 new plants, yellow carpet roses, this summer and they are blooming nicely so far:
6. I love these 2 stakes we bought at Lowe’s, one is a dragonfly and the other is a butterfly (I have them in some built-in planters on my deck, by the back door):
7. Some periwinkles that I planted in a planter (that hangs on the back fence)… they are doing well this year, they get tons of sun and as long as I water them every day, they are blooming up a storm π
8. Another new plant for me this year is a butterfly daisy; it’s doing really well also:
9. I have several bird feeders, most of them hold seed, but one of them holds suet cakes. The chickadees and wrens love the suet:
10. My daylillies started blooming in early May… and the last of them are about to finish blooming:
May blooms:
late June blooms:
11. My pink crape myrtles up front are blooming now, always in time for July 4th!
12. And, my rudbeckia have just started blooming this past week, too . They normally bloom in July and August… I hope they have a long blooming season this year!
13. And for the big finish…. my absolute favorite thing that we have outside of our house is the deck that my husband built me several summers ago. We had a tiny patio, with only room for a chair and a grill. He designed and built this deck for me, and I love, love, love it. It’s my favorite thing outside:
Another view, the grill side:

Thanks for stopping by my blog and reading my T13. I just finished the 1st book in the James Patterson series, 1st to Die. I started the 2nd one last night. Let me know if you would be interested in me sending you the books. I have the entire series and I have an extra copy of 1st to Die. I sent one of them off to a friend, but have another one. I usually post them on http://www.paperbackswap.com, but I would much rather send them onto someone who wants to read the entire series. Just let me know and I would be happy to mail it to you, along with the rest of the series. I wouldn’t want them back, so you could just pass them onto whoever you wanted or keep them. Us fellow book lovers have to stick together! π Just email me and let me know.
Wow, beautiful flowers! And the squirrel, so cute!
I wish I could find those flowers here in Brazil. I wanted to plant them in my garden too. But it’s like people don’t care much for it. It’s so hard to find! π
Well, I’m playing TT too!!!

I love the deck, something I’ve always wanted. I’d like to have the bird feeders too, but we have 3 cats, and I’m sure they’d LOVE it a little too much π

oh so beautiful!! I used to grow impatiens…when I lived in my condo before I was married…my patio was mostly shaded and they grew so well. Now we live in a newish area and so the trees aren’t as mature so little shade these days…that means mostly sun loving plants for me.

What a GREAT 13!! I love it. I leave food out for my squirrels and love to see them gnawing at the corn too! I also leave different food out for the finches and cardinals and enjoy watching them from my sunroom. My friend decorates her yard with lovely chimes so I’ve been working on doing that in mine.
That is a gorgeous deck! Your husband did a great job. When’s the cookout? I’ll bring squirrel corns! π
