OK, so here’s a question – if I put a facial moisturizer on my face that has SPF 15 in it, then I put on makeup/foundation that has an SPF of 15 – does that mean I have SPF 30 coverage on my face? Or does one cancel out the other and I still just have an SPF of 15 on my face, out in this blazing hot sun? It’s hot here, and supposed to be 96º this weekend. Ick. Gotta get serious about sunblock and sunscreen soon.

I’m no expert, but I do have very fair skin so I know a little bit about the benefits sunscreen! I think that if you put on two different SPF 15 creams/makeups/lotions, you’ll still have just SPF 15 coverage. However, I have heard that any SPF creams above 30 work just as well as those that are 50 or higher.
Sunburn isn’t something to mess around with – so be careful out there! 🙂

You should use real sunscreen not just the kind in makeup…and yes, anything over 30 is just like 30.
use sunscreen if you will be in sun a while…….
I too think it will be a 15 rather than a 30 if you put two different things on that are 15………..and I have heard for years that anything over a 30 was nothing special, nothing more than a 30, which is odd why they still make it! What I don’t like about sunscreen is the smell of it, that is why I like to use moisturizer or makeup with an spf in it.
I want a lotion for my arms that has sunscreen/spf in it!
