Snapshots

I took a few pictures yesterday and today of things blooming and growing, and also one of a little chickadee eating from the suet feeder.

If you’re interested in things like that, click on the extended entry to check out all of the pictures 🙂

Disclaimer: Lest you get the wrong impression and think I have a green thumb or something, please let me state the obvious. I’m only taking pictures of the things that have actually lived and are blooming. I won’t be posting pictures of all the plants and flowers that I have killed or that are dying. I know I should, to be fair, but I won’t. 😆

Our daylillies are in the midst of prime blooming time – check it out:

My cosmos is doing well too, it seems to love the sun (I have 3 of these now, but this is the original one and it’s doing the best, blooming the most):

And finally, another picture of one of the many chickadees we have coming to our bird feeders. I have yet to be able to get a picture of our little wrens. I love them, they remind me of my mom and grandmother (their last name was Wren). They also sing up a storm and I love to hear them singing.

Oh, and this suet feeder used to hang over my deck. It was sort of in an open spot and rarely would it get any visitors. I decided to try to move it up under my big tree in the backyard. It is nestled in some branches, and I think the little birds feel more sheltered and protected – they are visiting it often now that I’ve moved it.

And, a little patriotic sign I picked up recently to hang by our front door, in honor of Memorial Day and the upcoming 4th of July holiday:

  1. Gail Said,

    nice shots!
I think you should post pics of the stuff that didn’t make it! We could both do it and call it something like “all the things that didn’t make it!” But I would win by a long shot because stuff seems to die when I try to grow it. 🙂

  2. Laura Said,

So pretty! I keep wishing I could plant more flowers, but that means I would have to water them every day and that would mean trouble when we’re out of town for a week. I guess I’ll just live with what I have for now. 🙂

  3. deb Said,

Pretty! I don’t have green thumb either even though I take so many flower pictures lol. Great bird shot, too!

Hope your day is a good one. It’s soooo hot here!!

  4. Connie Said,

Well I am just loving your pictures. Oh how lovely your flowers are…you captured the birds nicely also. Thanks so much for sharing your talent with us.

    Take care,
    Connie

  5. Amanda Said,

Looks like you are really getting the hang of that new camera!! I love the cosmos….Are those little bitty flowers that you zoomed in on or are they bigger flowers? I think that I might plant some of those. We’re still working on our flower beds. I know that it’s a bit late to be planting anything, as it will require so much water to live…but, better late than never.
