Tuesday Babbles

Not too much going on around here to blog about. Watching a lot of TV though! I worked on some of my pages yesterday for this blog (check out the sidebar, the “100 things” and “Lately” ones are the ones I spent time on yesterday). Tim is also doing some work on Hambones, in his “spare” time (aka, late at night). He’s really busy at work too. He finds time to go out back and hit golf balls every day after work, though, until dark. 😛

I meant to blog yesterday about the Dancing with the Stars finale. Click the -more- button if you want to get my TV and food wrap-up! 🙂

I coerced Tim into going and picking up a bunch of Chinese food for us Sunday night before the DWTS finale. I ordered us each a combination dinner (shrimp lo mein for me and spicy shrimp with garlic sauce for him, the combinations come with fried rice, eggroll and wonton), then I ordered some steamed dumplings, too. This local places knows us, I think, and so they also threw in an order of fried crab sticks with sauce for free. Tons of food. We had plenty Sunday night and I have enough left for lunch several days this week.

Anyway, I really enjoyed DWTS. I enjoyed each show and the finale, and was very surprised to see Stacy Kiebler go first, leaving Jerry vs Drew. It all ended the way I wanted though, as I wanted Drew to win. I had voted and voted and voted Thursday night, had trouble getting in on the phone lines. It’s weird, I started watching the show because of Jerry Rice, and I voted for him a lot in the beginning. But, then I really switched over to Drew’s camp. I thought he did great, and even though Stacy was probably a better dancer, it somehow seemed really unfair that she was even in the thing. I mean, she looked more like a professional than an amateur. Anyway, I really loved this show, and I hope they do it again. I missed it the first time around, but I won’t make that mistake again. 🙂

24 was on last night, and was as good as always. I’ll try to pop over to the TV forums on Hambones.org and post something in there about the show. I thought it was a good episode – loved all the stuff with the First Lady and President Prissy-Pants, and the usurpation of Len’s authority at CTU. The previews looked great (2 hours next week!!) but I was very dismayed to see Kim return. Blech. ICK. I am tired of little Kimmie-pooh.

Tonight is the premiere of Amazing Race and I’m very psyched about that. I’m glad they are returning to the format of 2 person teams and international travel. I enjoyed last season, with the families and mostly US travel, but I much prefer this format. I like to see them visit places I will probably never go to in my entire life. I like seeing them struggle with the travel, the languages, the customs, the cultures of different countries. That makes it much more enjoyable for me.

Tonight will be a busy TV night for us – we love, love, love NCIS and they have a new episode on before Amazing Race (so that’s 3 hours on CBS). Plus, there’s Idol, which I’ll have to tape and I have no idea when we’ll watch it. Tim has to work late tonight, so that will throw off tomorrow’s time schedule.

I’m also enjoying my book “Dead Even”. It’s a good legal thriller, like reading a really engrossing Grisham book. I am about half way through and can’t wait to turn the page and find out what happens next. 😀
