Playing Catch Up

We’ve been really busy since I last blogged… nothing earth-shattering, but just staying busy. Here’s the highlights:

Friday night, we went out to eat at our new Chili’s in Madison (we’ve been once before, right after they opened). I was less than impressed. I didn’t like my food and didn’t eat but about half of it and Tim seemed less than thrilled with his also. Therefore, I was able to coerce him into a visit to Cold Stone Creamery afterwards. We got a Black Forest Dream which is chocolate ice cream mixed with cherries, brownie pieces and hot fudge sauce. Yum-o. I thought I had died and gone to heaven. We also went to Lowe’s and did some shopping Friday night.

Saturday, we headed to Hattiesburg for a long day.

We stopped at Crescent City Grill to visit with Fred, Kirk and Nichole while they had a late lunch. It was good to see them again. We’re really glad Kirk & Nichole have moved closer and can come visit more often. 🙂 We had to leave though, and head over to Mark and Amanda’s, for Abby’s 1st birthday party. Lots of friends and family in attendance – Amanda’s mom and grandmom, Mark’s parents, us, Tony, Ryan, Stephanie and Ramsey, Stephanie’s mom Jackie (Linda’s sister), Terry, Brittany and Zack, and of course, the birthday girl, her big brother Ethan and mom and dad. They had lots of good food, the cutest cake for Abby, and it was great to get to visit with everyone. The kids had fun playing inside and also playing football with the “big boys” outside. Abby had lots of presents to open and got lots of help from her big brother Ethan, who (at 3), didn’t quite understand why he didn’t get to open all the presents. After all, he’s an old pro and has had 3 birthdays, and he always gets to open everything, so he was a little mystified as to why everyone wanted Abby to open things. 😀

After the party was over, we went with Tony and Stephanie to the new theater in Hattiesburg, the Grand, to see “Glory Road”. Really good movie, and I had been wanting to see it for several weeks now. We were really late getting home, but we had a really good day.

Today, we’re going to head over to the new paved walking trail near our new theater, the Grandview, and walk around Madison’s Liberty Park. After all the rain and grey skies yesterday, it’s nice to see the sun out and it seems to be pretty warm. We’re definitely not having much winter this year. I have weeds popped up everywhere and some of my spring flowering trees and bushes are trying to bloom. They’re very confused.

I’ll try to load the pictures from the party onto Hambones this week. Oh, I also got my 2 exercise DVD’s delivered yesterday while we were gone. I have to start using those and see how they are. 🙂
