Catching up…

We stayed so busy yesterday that I didn’t have time to blog about it. So here’s a quick post to catch everyone up. 🙂

Tim took off at lunch yesterday and we headed out. Stopped at Ruby Tuesday’s first for lunch. I learned the hard way that I do not like their veggie burgers. I ordered one, the mushroom swiss veggie burger, and I swear, that was the ickiest thing I have tasted in a long time. Tim tasted it too and declared it gross. He got the waitress to bring me a plain beef patty, which I substituted on my bun and was a happy camper.

After lunch, we did some shopping and errands all afternoon. I think we’re finished with everyone now, or at least I hope so. I have some things I have ordered online that are not here yet, and the estimates are saying another week. I hope it doesn’t cut it too close, and they get here in a timely manner. Anyway, Tim and I also did a little shopping for us. We got Tim some clothes that were part of his belated birthday present. We also picked up one or two things to “give” each other at Christmas. We already know what they are, but we’ll wrap them up anyway! Nice to have something you have picked out and tried on and it fits, you like it, etc. 🙂

On the way home, Tim suggested we try out the new CiCi’s pizza buffet on Lakeland…

Home of the 3.99 all-you-can-eat buffet. Cheap is a good thing this time of year. It wasn’t bad, but we both thought the bread sticks with marinara and the cinnamon rolls were by far the best thing on the menu. The pizza was good, nothing great, but for the price (3.99 plus 1.39 for a drink, plus tax), you can’t beat it. Instant food is always good too, when you’ve been out shopping all afternoon.

When we got home, I talked Tim into changing into sweats and driving me to Strawberry Patch Park in Madison. We had driven by a week or so ago at night, and it’s all decorated and lit up for Christmas. Several of the trees at the front have lights all in them (even way up high, very high into the trees), the lake is lined in lights, there’s a huge metal tree with lights in the middle of the lake, and the chapel (very tiny, but very pretty) had a big pretty wreath on the door, and some lighted carolers out front. Very, very pretty. The walking trail is lit year round, but it was extra nice to see it all decorated for Christmas.

We went twice around the trail (I think it’s 1 mile, not sure). First we walked and on the second one, Tim wanted to jog. Not me, I don’t like to jog much any more, but Tim loves to jog and run. So, since he agreed to go with me, I thought it only fair to reciprocate, so we jogged and walked the second lap. Tim is all excited now about jogging. It’s raining today though, so I’m not sure if we will be able to go back and walk/jog.

After we got back, we watched the finale of Amazing Race. I was ok with the Linz family winning, I really wanted the dad and daughters to win (the Bransens), but as long as it wasn’t the Weavers, I was ok. I was glad to see that the next one starts in February, and goes back to the original format – teams of two traveling the world. Should be good!

  1. Elizabeth Said,

I know. I have a couple of presents that I’m waiting for in the mail too. I’m nervous they won’t be here on time!
