Another action-filled weekend around here. 🙂
– Friday afternoon, I went and ran errands (bank, Lowe’s, grocery shopping). When Tim got in, we worked outside in the yard. He cut the grass, did the weed-eating and edged, and I planted all the snapdragons and violas I had bought. Still need to finish the front flower bed, rework the dirt and buy some big pansies. Maybe next week!
– Friday evening, we watched USM beat UAB on ESPN. Grilled some brats and had brats with sauerkraut, yum. Gail and Don came over late to spend the night. Visited with them till late. 🙂
(with pictures)
– Saturday morning, Don left early to go to Yazoo City and work, and Gail, Tim and I hung out till Dad got here. Suzie’s flight out of Chicago was delayed, and she arrived 3-4 hours later than originally planned.
– Gail and I went to Target and Best Buy on the way to meet Dad and Suzie. Don and Tim followed behind us and went to Best Buy to drool over the flat screens and plasma displays. Bought myself another late birthday present (Batman Begins). YEAH!
– Suzie is here! Her flight finally arrived around 1:00, sans luggage. Her bags came in on the next flight from Atlanta, around 2:30. We all went to El Torero on Lakeland to have a late lunch. Shrimp quesadillas for me. Note to self – order guacamole the next time we go there, it was terrific. Suzie ordered some and it was very good.
– Suzie and Dad go back to the airport to retrieve her luggage, then come back here to visit a while, before leaving for Hattiesburg. Don and Gail had to head home, to go to a 6 PM wedding in Greenwood. Sniff, sniff, wish they could have stayed and visited longer.
– Suzie and Dad leave about 5:00 for the Burg. Tim and I go to Lowe’s to return some weather stripping and look at ceramic tile. Back home and watch the shows we had taped from Friday night (Threshold and Numb3rs, Threshold is such a good show!)
– Tim’s beloved Saints have another horrific week and a terrible penalty/call late in the game. They lose. Tim is despondent. Tim is angry.
– Go for an extra long walk in our subdivision, regular route plus an extra loop around the lake. Dozens of geese and ducks are out. The weather is great, in the mid 60’s, the wind is blowing, feels divine.
– If I can talk Tim into it, we’re fixing to rearrange the furniture in the front bedroom. I want to move the bed from in front of the windows, so I can open the windows and let all this cool, fresh air inside. Feels just like fall around here! Whoddathunkit?!
OK – here’s some pictures from Saturday, of us all at the Mexican restaurant, Suzie opening a birthday present from Gail, and of course, more pictures of me and Tim (my favorite kind of picture!!!)..
Here’s Suzie opening a picture of the three of us when we were younger (I was about 4, they were teenagers):

I can’t believe you said something about rearranging furniture in your front room! I thought the very thing Saturday when I was in there and started to say something to you about it, but didn’t know whether to and then we got busy! Good idea!
We did rearrange the furniture, and hung up new pictures, and I really like it! Normally, it takes a while for things to grow on me, but I’m getting more used to moving furniture around. Tim grew up with his mom rearranging things a lot, so he loves it. I grew up in a house where nothing was ever moved or touched, so it’s taken me a bit of getting used to! But, I really like the front room now, seems more roomy, and it’s so nice to be able to get to the windows to open them up and let all this great, cool air inside the house to air it out. 😀
I like it better too and I get to stay in there tonight !!
