I posted a new poll on the homepage of Hambones.org, which posed the question “are you watching any new shows this fall season?” Or something along those lines. I thought I would answer mine here, since I tend to be long-winded and ramble on and on and on.
We are trying out a few new shows and sticking with most of the ones we watched last season. I think it’s easier to go day by day, so I’ll start with Mondays:
beware – it’s a long list! 🙂 We watch a lot of TV!
Mondays – we still watch 7th Heaven, and have for years. I personally love this show. It’s not as good as it used to be, but still good. Tim has picked up a new show on Monday night – Prison Break. He’s watched 2 or 3 weeks worth and I only just watched some last night. I haven’t caught up yet with the plot or characters, and it seems pretty violent (duh, in a prison Stace). He also watched MNF, of course. That goes without saying!
Tuesdays – busy night normally. We watch or tape NCIS, House, and now Amazing Race. I think that House (and also Prison Break, both on Fox) will not be on for a few weeks while Fox shows the baseball playoffs, but it’s still a great show. We never figure this one out, because of the medical aspect, but gosh, we love his acerbic nature and wit. All the characters are pretty good, and we really like this one. Amazing Race is a new concept this fall, a family edition, and it appears that they will be running the race mostly in the U.S. I said before it premiered that I didn’t think I’d like this one as much, because part of the appeal to Race to me is the international aspect, seeing them cope with flights, taxis, money, language, etc in different nations, customs and cultures. However, I will admit that I really enjoyed the first one last week, and as much as Tim and I love American History, I think we will really enjoy this one.
Wednesdays – Well, it goes without saying that Wed is LOST day. I love that show, have since the very first one, and it piques my curiosity like no other show on television. We have also started trying to watch Invasion, which conveniently comes on right after Lost. So far, it’s good, but that show is a little creepy and makes me jump. So far, so good, though.
Thursdays – Thursdays in our house have traditionally been a totally CBS night for us, and for the most part it still is. We watch Survivor, then CSI, then Without a Trace. I still like Survivor, and this season seems pretty grueling for the contestants. I will say that even though I still watch CSI, I don’t like it as much as I used to. The plots are just getting too weird for me. Last week, Alias premiered, and we taped it, but have yet to watch it. We may not keep up with this show this year. Thursdays are busy TV nights for us, and I’m not sure we will watch this year with her pregnancy as part of the show.
Friday – well, in the “off season”, we often watch Monk, or my most favorite show, Battlestar Galactica. However, both are in hiatus right now, so we’re watching Numb3rs again, and have picked up a new one (as of last Friday), Threshold. Threshold looks like a really good sci-fi show, and I really enjoyed it last week. Different concept, the aliens have already landed and invaded some people, and we know it, and we’re looking for them. Last week’s show had a good plot and it really captured my interest.
We don’t watch much on Saturdays or Sundays. I’ve never gotten into Desperate Housewives. Most of the time on Sundays in the fall, we just OD on football anyway, or else rent movies or catch up on stuff we’ve taped throughout the week (see above!).
OK, so, in summation, we’re trying 3 new shows – Prison Break on Mondays, Invasion on Wednesdays and Threshold on Fridays. The rest are all shows we have watched before.
