We’ve had a busy weekend… Rewind to Friday night. I had food out ready to cook, a flank steak I had marinated all afternoon, but Tim wanted to go out to eat. So….. we did! We went to Captain’s Catch in Madison. I had a shrimp po-boy with fries and Tim had red beans and rice (and YUCK, they had jalapenos on them). Then, we went to Walmart and picked up food for Saturday.
Saturday we got up early and Tim grilled the flank steak to take to have steak sandwiches for lunch at his parents. We loaded up the rest of the food, some of his tools and headed out in the new car. Terry and Zack were there, but they headed out soon to Hattiesburg, for Zack’s weigh-in for football. They got back later that afternoon and we were able to hang out with them. Linda was at a Gideon’s Ladies Auxiliary meeting till after lunch, but got back and we were really glad to be able to spend time with her before her birthday. Tim, Mitchell and Fred went to the other land to move Mark’s deer stand to Terry’s shop to work on it. It poured for about a half hour and stopped their work. I wish it had rained here, it’s so dry. Anyway, we made homemade ice cream and then grilled out for supper. We had cake and ice cream, then the guys went out and played football till nearly dark. We stayed and watched a movie (we brought National Treasure), and had a great time. We really enjoyed our visit, although we were late getting home.
Here’s a couple of pictures, I didn’t take as many as I had hoped. Only had one of Linda blowing out her candles!
Zack got his new football stuff (helmet, shoulder pads, jersey, etc) and here’s one of Tim helping him with his helmet:
