Rainy Saturday

Tim worked from home yesterday and I got out and ran errands yesterday afternoon. Went to the bank, library, Target and Sam’s. Checked out 2 audiobooks on CD and one hardback book. I shouldn’t have gone, I have other projects to do, but I heard the library calling my name as I drove by! 🙂

Tim called while I was out and said that Gail and Don had just called and were on their way down from the Delta and wanted to know if we would want to go out to eat and maybe to a movie. Fun! We didn’t have anything planned, so that sounded like a blast to us. We went to eat at Margaritas. The guys had fajita quesadillas and the girls had shrimp quesadillas. We porked out on chips, salsa and queso before the food got there and I really wasn’t even hungry! But, of course, me being me, I ate all my quesadilla anyway!

We debated on going to see either War of the Worlds or Fantastic Four, but by the time we finished eating and got out of the restaurant, it was past the 7 o’clock hour showings and too early for the 9:30 — 10:00 hour showings, so we ended up going home and watching a movie we had rented Thursday night – The Pacifier with Vin Diesel. Pretty good, nothing spectacular, but clean and semi-funny. I need to enter a review later on Hambones.

Gail and Don spent the night and were going to head out furniture shopping today. We all had breakfast – cereal and Krispy Kreme donuts we picked up on the way home last night. Don had something on his laptop that he wanted Tim to look at, and they started working on that. Elizabeth came by for a short visit, and it was great to see her. We had not seen her since graduation! 🙂 After Liz left, Gail was ready to go shopping, so she offered for me to tag along with her while Tim and Don were still working on his laptop. We went to Bassett, Haverty’s, TJMaxx and Marshall’s. As we were coming out of Marshalls, the skies opened up and it came a semi-flood. 😐 We only had one small pop-up umbrella and we got positively soaked on the way to Gail’s car. We decided to head back to the house since we were soaked, but called the guys on the way. Who were hungry, as we were, so we turned back around and went to Jason’s Deli to pick up sandwiches, chips, pickles, gingerbread muffins and ice cream. Gail and I got a Santa Fe chicken sandwich (grilled chicken, bacon, cheese and guacamole on branola bread, it was divine), Don got a tuna melt and Tim got “The Cowboy”. All very very good. We ate lunch, visited a while longer, watched some of the coverage of the Tour de France on OLN (Lance is still in the lead), and then they headed out a few minutes ago to head to Miskelly’s to look at furniture more. I hope they find what they want – Gail has a particular coffee table in mind, I think, that she wants to get soon. We had a really great time with them here, and were so glad they came. I just wish they could come more often! 😀

Anyway, that catches us up. It’s been raining off and on all day today, and I think Tim and I will stay home for the remainder of the day. We taped the season premeire of “Battlestar Galactica” last night and I’m dying to watch it, so I am going to push for us to watch that soon! 🙂 Maybe after that, we’ll watch another DVD from our collection. And maybe watch it rain some more. 🙂
