Five Random Questions

OK, some Exceedingly Mundane random and assorted questions for today:

1) What is the price of milk where you live?

2) When was the last time you printed out a photograph?

3) What’s a movie or TV show you are liking or have enjoyed recently?

4) Do you have an area in your house that has clutter? Something that piles up on you, like mail or dishes or laundry or receipts?

5) How much is gas where you live?

  1. Stace Said,

    My answers:

    1) What is the price of milk where you live? — Milk is pretty high, I think, like 3.89 a gallon for store brand fat-free

    2) When was the last time you printed out a photograph? — it’s been a while, maybe 2 or 3 years? I printed a few out to scrapbook a while ago. I have been digital since 2003, and in all those years, I have probably only printed 3 or 4 sets of photos, all related to scrapbooking. I just don’t print them out any longer, and I’m afraid one day I might regret that πŸ™

    3) What’s a movie or TV show you are liking or have enjoyed? — we watched Nonstop yesterday and it was good. We’ve been enjoying 24 all summer, hate to see it ending. We’re also watching Major Crimes and Murder in the First and liking both of those too. Haven’t seen any movies in the theater recently, saw the Captain America and another one that were good. Want to rent the new XMen movie when it comes out, we missed it at the theater

    4) Do you have an area in your house that has clutter? Something that piles up on you, like mail or dishes or laundry or receipts? — I have a problem with piles. I am a “piler”. I pile stuff up and it eventually becomes a problem. Magazines are most notable right now, as I’m trying to clean them out before we move and not move them. Other papers, warranty books, receipts, etc are my other bad area. I always go ahead and fold laundry, so it doesn’t pile up. I only leave dishes overnight at most, so it does not pile up, thank goodness.

    5) How much is gas where you live? — I think it’s 3.45 at the closest gas station to us that we use.

  2. Dawn Said,

    1. I can’t even remember, we buy milk so infrequently. I think the last time I purchased any, it was a quart for $1.89?

    2. I had Shutterfly print out some photos maybe two or three months ago. I had scanned in some old family photos and I had copies printed out for various family members who would enjoy them. I also printed out a few of our wedding photos for my sister-in-law.

    3. I recorded TURN (on AMC) when it aired, and I’ve been enjoying that. (Although I have paused it in favor of finishing up the “regular season” shows that have a few lingering episodes on the DVR.) I have Murder in the First recording too! I know we have quite a few crime procedurals in common. Do you guys watch Unforgettable?

    4. The only places that pile up in our house are the side tables, next to our spots on the couch. Those are our “ground zero” spots (our laptops, phone charging stations, personal mail, etc all live there) and we’ve been very good about limiting it to just that one surface. Our rule is that we don’t touch each other’s “personal space” (nothing to do with privacy, just that it isn’t fair to judge what might be useful for someone else that looks like junk to us) and we don’t pass judgment on it. When my spot gets too cluttered that it starts to annoy me, I tidy it up. He does the same. And because we have to look at it in plain sight, it doesn’t usually get *too* bad. But we have no junk drawer, we don’t let the mail pile up, the dishes are washed every night before bed (I am traumatized by the ant problems we had in the old apartment so it’s just habit now), the laundry gets done within 24 hours (clothes usually right away to avoid wrinkles, but sometimes I wait to fold towels til we next sit down to watch tv), and I tend to file our important papers right away because I know I will lose them if I don’t. The only other pile I have is on my nightstand: library books! And the library keeps that from getting out of hand. πŸ˜‰

    5. I just paid $3.44 yesterday, and my GasBuddy app says it is still the same as of 6 hours ago.

  3. Karen Said,

    1) I’ve been buying milk by the half gallon, because we just don’t drink it fast enough. It’s usually $1.99 for a half gallon of the store brand 1%.

    2) Last time I printed out a photograph? Probably about a year ago, when I had a place to work on photo albums and scrapbooks. I really need to get back on it, because I’ve accumulated a lot of pictures on my computer and need to get them printed. I’ve been using Picasa, which I don’t like at all. I’ve heard Lighthouse? is good, but wait for a sale to sign up. What do you use?

    3) The last movie I watched was on T.V. and it was Pear Harbor! Haha, an oldie. We’ve been watching a lot of Big Bang reruns, since it’s summer, and we watch CBS Sunday Morning every week.

    4) My biggest clutter spot (and there are several) is my desk. It’s easy to throw everything on top if it and sort it out later. I am trying very hard to break this habit. I don’t let laundry build up — but my son does, and since he does his own, it drives me crazy. The kitchen island has a tendency to get cluttered, but I’m pretty good about clearing it off a couple times a day, since it’s my primo work spot!

    5) I just bought a tankful of gas and with my 50 cents per gallon grocery discount, it was $3.04 a gallon.

  4. Dianne Said,

    I’ll bite:
    1) What is the price of milk where you live? honestly, i have no idea!! Mike drinks it by the half gallon since he hurt his wrist and he usually buys it when he needs it. i’ve been buying mostly almond or coconut milk at Trader Joe’s which run about $2.99 for half gallon. I drink rice milk too but again, couldn’t tell you the price.

    2) When was the last time you printed out a photograph? Hm, I print a lot of artwork and cards but I can’t remember the last time I printed a photo just because I wanted the photo! Perhaps it was last summer when I got my new wireless printer and was checking out how easy it was to print from my phone! Yeah, let’s go with that!

    3) What’s a movie or TV show you are liking or have enjoyed recently? I’m all about baseball (go Bucs) in the summertime, but I do enjoy watching taped episodes of Rizzoli & Isles, as well as Guy’s Grocery Games and occasionally Chopped or Food Network Star (even though I think that show is somewhat tired).

    4) Do you have an area in your house that has clutter? Something that piles up on you, like mail or dishes or laundry or receipts? MY OFFICE!! Yikes. I even have an inbox and stuff doesn’t always make it IN there. To be fair, things have been in total disarray around here since my surgery but yesterday I spent a few hours putting my office back in order. πŸ™‚

    5) How much is gas where you live? That I know – $3.79. Ugh.

  5. Gail Said,

Oh you know I love random questions!

    1. Price of milk….not sure on the fat free store brand, maybe around 4ish? Lately I’ve been buying an organic fat free, store brand I think and it’s like 6.48.

    2. I hardly ever print pictures any more but about 2 months ago I did order some to print to take to the family reunion we went to.

    3. TV show, we’ve been enjoying 24! Movie, I enjoyed The Book Thief and The Monuments Men plus several others!

    4. There are quite a few places that have clutter in my house! You’ve probably seen them too πŸ™‚

    5. I think I paid $3.30 the last time I got it here in town……while traveling to TX I think we paid around 3.50 or 3.60ish.

  6. Vader's Mom Said,

    1) No idea. And I have to buy Almond Milk or Specialty Milk, so I try really hard to just buy it and not register what it costs me.

2.) I printed pictures in May. I’ll buy more this month. Snapfish has a new app and you get 100 pictures for free each month for a year. Only have to pay shipping.

3.) I love Major Crimes on TNT. We also have The Last Ship (Love Adam Baldwin), Longmire and we just finished up Salem…

4.) Let’s not discuss Jeff’s side of the closet.

    5.) $3.39 yesterday
