Finished “Sushi for Beginners”

Well, I don’t like to give up on things, especially books (even though most of you advised me to put it down – read the original post and comments here) . So, I dug in my heels and persevered and finished my latest book, “Sushi for Beginners” by Marian Keyes. You can read my review of it here on Hambones.org.

I did rather enjoy it towards the end and wanted to see how it turned out. It tied things up nicely, which is very important to me. I don’t like books that end badly or leave me hanging.

I have one more checked out from the library, the next one in the numbered Stephanie Plum series – “Hot Six”. I started it last night since Tim was locked up in the computer room till after midnight working on Hambones.

I’m already about halfway through it, so it will only take me one or two more nights to finish. These books are all very similar, and although they have some bad language and situations, I thoroughly enjoy them. I was glad to read the other day that Janet Evanovich has the next one coming out in this series on June 21 (you can check it out at her website), Eleven on Top. So that will give me 5 more books in this series to read now. I can’t wait!

I am going to try to be good and return these to the library when I finish and not check out any more. I need to do some research on our Washington DC trip, and when I’m reading other books, I don’t want to read our travel guide. I am going to take the new Nicholas Sparks with me on the trip. Then, when we get back, I’m going to head back to the library and get more. I am really enjoying this new reading phase I’m in. It’s certainly lasted a lot longer than I thought. But with summer reruns and nothing to watch on TV, it’s either read or watch a movie from our collection. As long as Tim is holed up back here working on Hambones, I will defintely keep reading!
