Ice, Ice, Baby?

We’re waiting to see what the weather will do today. It’s already started sleeting here, and they’re calling for a lot of ice, freezing rain, sleet (what’s the difference between those, anyway?!), and maybe even some snow. The snow is fine, the ice is not. Ice brings down limbs on power lines and then we have no power, no heat, no way to get warm, cook food, etc. I really hope we don’t lose power.

Yesterday was such an unhappy day here. The Saints played their playoff game against the Seahawks, and LOST. So sad that the season is over. Last year was so much better 🙂

Hope everyone is having a great day! 🙂

I hate this time of year – the weather is so unpredictable. Jeff’s hoping to get home from ATL today and between the weather here and the weather there, he’s a little worried. If I had my way, I’d move to Hawaii and never have to worry about ice, snow or freezing rain again!!! Want to join me?

  2. Gail Said,

Oooh I can tell you the difference between sleet and freezing rain! Learned that after living through 2 terrible ice storms here and without power several days those times……..sleet is when it’s already coming down frozen and hits the ground frozen. Freezing rain is when it hits the power lines as rain and then freezes. According to 2 former next door Entergy neighbors, the freezing rain is worse. 🙂

WHERE is the 4-8 inches of snow I’m supposed to get, boo.

Hopefully, your day went well, and you have power! We’re waiting on 2-4 inches of snow. I don’t mind the kids being home from school, but I hope we don’t get so much that we can’t drive at all!

  4. Dawn Said,

I’m sorry about your Saints. It’s so hard to say goodbye to another season. (Makes me glad I have baseball to look forward to at least, when the Patriots play their last game of the season–which hopefully will not be this coming Sunday!) Who will you be “rooting” for now? I always have to root for someone (unless the Mannings play each other LOL!).

I hope you’re staying warm & that you power has stayed on!

  5. mamichelle Said,

Yep, Gail is right about the sleet/freezing rain! We are weather experts here in New England. LOL

Sorry about your Saints. I’m hoping that my Patriots go all the way, but only for my dh.
