Google Chrome

I’ve been using a PC since the early 1980’s. The first PC I used was an IBM PC XT, with no internal hard drive, and 2 external 5 1/4″ floppy drives. Things have certainly come a long way! I now carry a PC thousands of times more powerful in the palm of my hand, and it doubles as my cell phone (my iPhone) 😀

Windows has been my mainstay for quite a while now. Not because I like it, but more out of necessity. Tim is a Linux guy, but I am fairly mainstream in the apps I use and things I do. We’re going to buy a Macbook soon, hopefully this year if things work out. I think we’ll both be a lot happier in a Mac environment than a Windows one. In the meantime, I’m still using Windows. I stopped using IE years ago and switched to Firefox. But I had problems with Firefox late last year, and I tried Google Chrome. I didn’t like it at first, but it sort of grew one me. It seems faster and I like the way it loads.

I’ve been pretty happy with it, and am sticking with it for now. At least until we can get a Mac in the house, LOL!

How about you? Are you a PC or Mac user? Which browser do you use?

  1. Sadie Said,

I use a Mac at home, and Firefox. I love love my Mac, but I don’t use my computer as much anymore b/c I’m on the computer all day at work. My work computer is a PC and I use Firefox here too. I’ve never tried Chrome… Maybe I will!

  2. Laura Said,

I’m a Firefox user, but I do have to use all 3 PC browsers for various things throughout the day.

I will probably always be a PC person. Macs are great for some things and terrible for others, but so are all computers. Just beware of anybody who tells you one or the other is THE BEST. Everything has its downsides – just a matter of what works for you and your needs!

  3. Kimmy Said,

I’ve been a proud Mac girl, but this last year I had to switch back to PC for financial reasons. Sadly, the PC is just WAY cheaper! In my heart, I will forever be a Mac girl though. They are lovely. I do have to say though, Windows 7 isn’t half bad.

I used to use Camino on my Mac. I am now using Firefox on my PC. Haven’t tried Google Chrome, but I’ve heard good reviews.

  4. Deanna Said,

I am a PC girl and have been using Firefox. I might have to give Chrome a test drive though!

  5. Meredith Said,

Mac all the way for us. When my hard drive crashed last year I was devastated because we knew we didn’t have the cash to buy a new MacBook (and we’re cash people). Thankfully it was repaired pretty cheap and we started saving for a new MacBook. John’s work laptop is a Mac. Our girls use my old Mac, and John’s brother gave us an old iMac that my son uses. We’re Apple junkies but we DON’T have iPhones because we can’t break our contract with Verizon. Sigh.

    You’ll NEVER regret buying one.

    Oh, and we use Safari.

  6. mamichelle Said,

I’m sure you know you can get the mac that can use either os. Is that what you’re getting? We have those in the lab across from my office. I am a pc girl but my son is a major mac snob! He’s a graphic artist/photographer/musician so that’s why he just HAD to have a mac when he started college. He’s never gone back. Oh, and I use IE at home and work. I used to use Firefox at home. We just never set it up when we got the new laptops.

  7. Kara Said,

PC all the way and Firefox. If I use IE8, all kinds of keystrokes get skipped.

  8. Lauren@Baseballsandbows Said,

I use a pc and IE. I haven’t had many problems, although if I tried another browser, I might realize they are better!

  9. Dianne Said,

On your recommendation, i downloaded Chrome today. So far so good. I like the idea of Macs but am thinking it’s just the “new” that appeals to me. I hate the idea of being locked into everything Mac though, so I’ll probably remain a PC girl. I’ve never had the issues with Windows that so many people complain about – although I kind of hate big “Microsoft!”

  10. Dawn Said,

I’m a PC. I am totally not cool enough for a Mac! I get all confused when one of my Mac friends asks me to look something up on theirs! I switched from IE to Firefox when they released one of the updates to IE that made my old laptop very angry. Haven’t looked back since. I did try Chrome, just to see, but it felt very awkward to me, so I just stayed on Firefox.
