Who Dat!

For the second time in franchise history, the New Orleans Saints are going to the NFC Championship game! For my darling Tim, a lifelong Saints fan, it’s another dream come true! We’re just hoping that we do better this time around. Three years ago, the Saints won their playoff game, and then went to Soldier Field in Chicago to play the Bears for the NFC Championship and a right to play in the Super Bowl.

We were there! I’ve never been so cold in my life πŸ™‚ In case you weren’t reading my blog then (Jan 2007), here’s a couple of pictures:

This time around, we will probably stay home and watch from the comfort of our warm, dry, comfy sofa. This game is in New Orleans and is a lot closer, but I don’t think we’re going to go this time around. We’ve been to a lot of games in the Superdome in our life, and this one would be the best ever, but I think we’re going to save the money and stay home πŸ˜€ We’re still really excited though, and hoping for the best. This time, they play at home, and not in 22º and snow, so hopefully they’ll do a lot better!

WHO DAT!

P.S. If you’re someone who usually comes to our yearly Super Bowl party, just a friendly notice: If the Saints do win this coming week and go to the Super Bowl, we will not, I REPEAT NOT, be having our Super Bowl party! It’s too hard for me to watch the game with a house full of people, food to fix, drinks to shuttle, things to pick up and clean up, kids and adults to play with, talk to and hang out with. I’ll need to focus all of my attention on the game, so we won’t be having a party πŸ˜€

  1. Lauren@Baseballsandbows Said,

I thought of you when I heard the Saints won!

I have to laugh about you not having a party. My husband skipped our regular NYE party (not at our house) to watch the Vols. He doesn’t like to watch HIS team play with a crowd (of course, he should’ve come to the party–it turned out better than the Vols game). He also says he will never attend our regular Super Bowl party if the Titans ever make it back. I guess serious sports fans need to concentrate on their teams! If the Saints do win, I’ll be happy for you!

  2. Dianne Said,

i would be the same way Stacy! we only like to watch big games with “real” fans and I could never host a party if my team were playing. a few friends or my parents -okay. but not people with kids and people who don’t know a first down from a touchdown or the infamous commercial watchers!!

    Go Saints!

  3. Laura Said,

Oh man… lucky you! It’s been so long since my team went to the Big Dance, and today my hopes were dashed yet again. I will be thinking of you guys, though, and desperately hoping that the SAINTS are going to the Super Bowl instead of the VIKINGS! Ugh! πŸ˜‰

  4. Gail Said,

Y’all should go to the game this time! Much better weather than last time. πŸ™‚
But yay for no party if they go to the super bowl………it will be easier to watch than if you’re hosting something!

  5. Gail Said,

p.s…….I think that red coat looks vaguely familiar!

  6. Meredith Said,

I knew you’d be happy about that score! Congrats!!!!! I really think they could go all the way.

  7. mamichelle Said,

Brrr….Chicago is veeeery chilly. You can get the idea of what we live with in the winter though. Today we got 9 inches of snow. In between the flakes, we got sleet, freezing rain and then snow again. It is relentless!!!
