Better

Well, knock on wood, but I feel better this morning. I am hoping that all the rest that I got all weekend, combined with the meds and all that nasty gargling, has paid off. Not to mention the air filter. I think that’s a big part of it. I’m going to do some serious cleaning this week, and see if I can get more of the dust out of this house. It’s sooo dusty in here, always has been. I need to find a way to get it out of here and not just stir it up and watch it settle again! 🙂

  1. Suzanne Said,

You might consider getting your air ducts blown out……..you should see some ads in your paper, or is that just a ‘big city’ thing……we did it in tacoma cause we had lots of dust too.
Also I have read that if your windows have cracks in them, it lets more dust in.
    Glad you are better.

  2. Stacy Said,

Suzie, believe it or not, I talked to Tim about this over the weekend. I think Dad had looked at doing this after Dodie’s long stint in ICU, but it was going to be several thousand dollars. Tim thinks it will be that or more here, so that will be cost prohibitive. I’ll have to do other stuff to help, that don’t cost as much! 🙂

Thanks for the tip though. I think once we get some of the carpet out of here also and get laminate flooring it will help too. I think carpet traps more dust and allergens.

  3. Wendy Said,

Stacy, you are right about getting rid of the carpet, that is the culprit. I used to have to dust my furniture once a week , now since the carpet is gone I haven’t seen any dust in about 3 weeks so far!!

  4. Stacy Said,

Wendy – once a week?! I’d kill to only dust once a week. I dust 2-3 times and it could use it more! This house is just REALLY dusty for whatever reason.

  5. Gail Said,

I have wood floors in my den but………they get very dusty! No way would I see no dust in 3 weeks….mine are dusty in a week. Maybe there is another trick to it as well. Stacy might be onto something with the filters…….we have a place in our den, return air thing i guess! Anyway, its where the filter goes and maybe that is why I have more dust in there. But we did buy expensive allergen/dust type filters but it didn’t take care of all of it!
