Fave of the Moment – Music

I’m always on the lookout for good music. Lately, I’ve been listening to music while I’m on the treadmill, or on the computer. On the treadmill, I mostly walk, but lately I’ve been trying to jog a little bit. Of course, a couple of days ago, I must have overdone it, because now my ankles are hurting. Between the Wii Active (that thing is absolutely in love with making me run, do lunges and squats) and the treadmill, my ankles have been sore for several days.

Anyway, back to the music. I mostly listen to country and praise and worship music. My favorites of the moment are the new Dierks Bentley CD, “Feel that Fire”, the new Keith Urban CD, “Defying Gravity”, and one by Casting Crowns called “The Altar and the Door.”. There’s several songs on each disc that I really love. Here’s the one that I love off the Casting Crowns CD, in addition to Slow Fade and the title track. This one is called “What This World Needs”. It works really well for the short amount of time I am trying to run!

How about you? What have you been listening to? And if you walk or run, let me know what music pumps you up, I’m always on the lookout for good music to walk or jog to.

Have a great day!

  1. Desert Songbird Said,

I’m afraid I’m not very adventurous when it comes to music, at least not lately. I tend to not listen to new stuff, but rather, stick with old stuff or new stuff by established artists. I’m a rock ‘n roll kinda girl, so my listening pleasures are U2 (of course!), and 70s and 80s rock.

  2. mamichelle Said,

I haven’t really been listening to anything new but my recent favs are: Ray Lamontagne, new Dave Matthews Band, Paulo Nutini, Snow Patrol. Of course, they aren’t really for exercise because I don’t tend to do that! LOL

  3. sherry Said,

I love that song too! I mostly just listen to our local Christian music station!

  4. Karen Said,

I tend to stick with Country music. I need to get out of my rut, but I do enjoy it! I also like Christian music, but don’t know very many artists. My favorite is Renee Bondi. I have two of her CDs and they are my favorites for when I (used to!) to the ellipitical.

  5. Gail Said,

Well you probably wouldn’t like some of the music I use on my ipod when walking! Mamma Mia has some upbeat songs I use as well Jersey Boys, but you don’t like that kind of music! I have used some Carrie Underwood and Tina Turner, how’s that for about as different as it gets. I’ve thought a/b buying that Keith Urban one b/c I was at your house when we saw him on tv and I got sorta interested in it. I actually saw a Rascal Flatts cd in penney’s the other day I thought a/b getting! Who’d have thought I would get country music. I need some new stuff though b/c I get tired of the same things……lately I’ve been doing podcasts while I walk.
That’s good if you’re running as long as that song is……..I only got part of it to play so I’ll come back later to listen to the rest, it sounds good.

  6. kim Said,

Hi Stacy! Finally I am able to comment over here. I tried off and on the past couple of weeks but the comment page just wouldn’t load for me! I hope you are having a beautiful 4th today. I think some of your weather has made its way up here because we were in the 90’s yesterday and are almost there today.

I don’t listen to music when working out–I prefer the t.v. In the car I listen to a smooth jazz station, various country cd’s, Rod Stewart sings the classics cd’s and an oldies radio station which only plays hits from the 60’s and 70’s and has hardly any commercials. I HATE radio commercials when I am driving! 🙂
We are getting ready to get rid of our elliptical machine and get a treadmill–I just can’t work out very long on that elliptical–just kills my legs.
    *smiles*
    Kim
