Bits and Pieces

Just some random thoughts…

  • Ready for the TV season to wind down. I’m looking forward to reading more this summer, watching more movies from Netflix, and playing our Wii and my DS. Actually, we’re working on Season 1 of Alias on DVD. Only on the second or third disc though.
  • First, we have to find out who wins Survivor (Sun night) and Idol (Wed night?). Who do you think will win? Oh, and we have to find out what happens to Jack Bauer on 24!
  • Having fun playing word games on my DS. Frustrated by playing Bejeweled on Facebook.
  • Also having fun recently playing Phase 10. Fun game!
  • Trying to walk more. I signed up for a challenge thingie to walk for the month of May. The challenge prompted me to walk 30 minutes, 5 times a week, but I only committed to 3x a week, for 30 minutes a time. I’m trying to walk more, either at the park with a friend, or on my treadmill. Not doing it daily, but still trying to get at least 150 minutes a week. Unhappy because so far the scale has not budged, not even down a single pound. Boo, hiss.
  • Have read 25 books so far this year, all either from my TBR pile or borrowed from others. I haven’t reviewed or mentioned any book here, but have been trying to keep up at GoodReads. I set foot in our library for the first time all year, today (Sat). I tried to reserve a book online (the new Debbie Macomber one, Summer on Blossom Street) and it said “privilege has expired”. So I had to go in and renew my library card. Also checked out three books. I absolutely cannot walk into the library and not come out with at least one book.
  • We’ve been to two movies over the last two weekends. Star Trek last week and Wolverine today. Star Trek is amazing. Awesome. And Fantastic, too 😀
  • Life is busy, but life is good! I just need to blog more often, LOL!

    1. mamichelle Said,

Ha, I am equally frustrated by that awful FB game! I won’t even mention it.

And good for you on the walking and the books! I finally started a diet and I’ve lost a few (4-5) but I can’t bring myself to walk. I did take advantage of a few beautiful days at work and walked along the river. I’ve been forcing myself to walk up the five flights once a day.

I need to check out my book count. I’ve been reading pretty steadily but I am nowhere near your total. I may be at 8-9 but I honestly don’t remember. My favorite thing to do on the weekend when I wake up is to take my coffee and book and head to my favorite chair and read for an hour. Ahhhhhhhh.

    2. Twiga Said,

Love, love, love the show Alias! Probably my favorite show of all time other than Friends. And we loved Star Trek – it was great! As for Survivor, I’m thinking J.T. may win it all at this point. I don’t really care who wins of the final 4; I’m just really, really glad that Coach is gone! Man, he was annoying! 🙂

    3. Karen Said,

My kids play Phase 10 and they love it. I’m not much into games, unfortunately. I love “privelege has expired”! I’m going to use that with the kids when they lose a privilege. Hope I don’t have to use it too soon!

    4. annie Said,

I thought I was the only one still watching survivor!

    5. Heidi @ ggip Said,

Hey, we LOVE phase 10. Haven’t played it in a while!
Also, we got a wii and a wii fit just friday as a gift (I know it is a big gift and we love it!) I totally am going to lose weight. It is so fun!

      Have a great Sunday!

    6. Dawn Said,

I am ready for the tv season to end too, mostly because watching the Sox play almost every night means the DVR gets ridiculously out of hand. Although I have to say, the season finales of Grey’s & Private Practice have me really wanting to know what happens next!

I am hoping for Kris but I bet it will be Adam who wins. Still rooting for an upset though!

    7. Gail Said,

      * I’m very ready for tv season to be over! Need some netflix suggestions though.
      * Thrilled with Survivor outcome! Hope Kris wins on the one hand b/c I really like him, but think Adam will b/c they are pushing for him hard….and as we said, maybe it’s better for Kris not to be tied to them.
      * Totally frustrated by bejeweled, don’t think I quite understand how it works or scores. I need some explanation!
      * I have not walked but need to!

And I need some motivation to blog!

    8. JEN Said,

We had so many shows on DVR that we decided to save 3 of them for the summer….Big Love, Chuck and Medium. That should keep us busy. Walking sounds great…I need to start soon.

    9. Desert Songbird Said,

We went to see Star Trek this past Saturday night; we really liked it too. We’ll definitely be adding it to our DVD collection when the time comes.

    10. DawnK Said,

We got a Wii, just after Christmas. I play it some. My kids play all the time! I can bowl better on the Wii, than I can in real life.

I don’t like Bejeweled on Facebook, either. It’s not like the real game. I own the game, so I just play the real game, if I want to.

I need a book suggestion, so will peruse your pages to find one!

    11. Kara Reed Said,

Don’t feel bad about the walking and the weight…I am walking anywhere between 25 and 30 miles a week and the scale isn’t budging!

    12. Sandra Said,

      I’ve missed you 🙂

I still haven’t watched Star Trek but I’m such a Trekkie that I just have to go LOL

    13. DawnK Said,

Off-topic for this post, but here goes. I loved Summer of the Midnight Sun and can’t wait to get to the library today, to get the next book, since the issues aren’t resolved, due to it being a series! LOL! Argh! I didn’t want the book to end.
