Did everyone have a good Memorial Day weekend? We did. We were busy, but we accomplished a lot. Nothing like a sense of accomplishment, that you really set a goal and met it 😀
We could have played all weekend, or gone somewhere fun. We talked about it, but in the end, we both decided we’d rather stay home and get something done. We picked a project we were both interested in. Our garage had gotten really messy and dirty and needed to be cleaned out. So, I talked Tim into working on that this long holiday weekend. We emptied the garage out completely, and had stuff everywhere – in the house, on the deck, along the side of the house in the grass, and we filled up the back of our SUV. We took a lot of stuff to Goodwill, and we took a huge amount of motor oil (Tim changes the oil in our vehicles, and saves us a lot of money!) to a local garage place to recycle it. (See, we do a lot to help our planet!)
Then, we cleaned the floor and walls and Tim pressure washed the floor in the garage and our front door entryway. We went to Lowe’s and bought some concrete paint, and we went to Sam’s and bought me some shelving. Tim painted the front entryway the same grey concrete paint, and he painted the garage flooring in two phases.
We got it all back in last night, except for the vehicles. The floor needs to set for 72 hours before you put a hot vehicle on it. We’ve painted our garage floor in the past, and it does come off over time with the heat from the treads of the car. So, this won’t last forever, but gosh, it looks so nice and clean and organized right now!
Plus, I have some more storage out in the garage that I didn’t have before. Like I told Tim, Sam’s Club, here I come, LOL!

One side of the garage, after it’s done. The other side has all of Tim’s tools, table saw, yard and garden stuff, and a lot of stuff. It’s organized, but it doesn’t look quite as neat, so I picked this side, LOL:
Oh man, I’m jealous! It looks fabulous!!! Ours has that tornado-just-ripped-through-here look 😉
Rich and I actually spent a good deal of time in our garage this past weekend, too. Preparing for the upcoming neighborhood garage sale next weekend. So hopefully by next weekend, we’ll have a lot of crap cleared out of there and can get things looking a little more like yours. Notice I did say “a little”…our will NEVER look as wonderful as yours does!

I dream of having a garage that looks like yours! We painted the floor several years ago and it desperately needs to be redone. I would love to re-do the shelves, paint the sheetrock and fix it up nice like yours. Great job!

Wow you guys really worked hard but the results are fab’. I painted my little gym room off our garage with the same colour concrete paint. Afraid I do not have the energy to do our huge garage floor though! WTG
You all did a lot of work! We did absolutely nothing all weekend, which was a huge change from the weekend prior. Now we’re in San Diego on vacation – yippee!

WOw! That looks fantastic! Paining the garage floor has been something I have thought about. I don’t think I can convince my husband though!
