Not Happening

Well, once again I seem to be in a rut. I think it’s the time of year. I’ve blogged in the past about how much I dislike the time of year around Mother’s Day and also late June, which was when my mom passed away. I hate being reminded every year that I am not a mother and never will be 🙁

Anyway, I actually have several things to blog about. And pictures to go along with them 🙂

* There’s some foodie stuff and new recipes I’ve tried.
* There’s some flowers blooming in my yard.
* There’s a happy we got in the mail
* There’s a dead rodent that has been terrorizing our yard (complete with gross picture)
* There’s reusable shopping bags
* There’s some books I have read and enjoyed, although that’s a common theme with me; I like most every book I read!

However, I don’t seem to have the time, patience or inclination to sit down and blog about them. It just ain’t happening lately. Maybe if I get out of my blogging rut, I will get them down. Or I may just take a break for a while. Who knows!

Hope you’re all having a good day, take care 😀

I know what you mean. This time of year is difficult. It’s hard to even watch TV cuz commercials are all about mothers and mother’s day. Breaks are good – pampering yourself is good. Hang in there!

  2. Angela Said,

I can relate to the not going to be a Mom. It is hard isn’t it?. Sometimes taking a step back from bloging for a bit does wonders. Then when your refreshed, you just pick back up where you left off:-).
Hope your spirits rise soon!. ((hugz))

  3. Desert Songbird Said,

I can relate on not feeling motivated. I’m so rushed with things to do with the kids and the end of the school year, I feel like the proverbial headless chicken. Most of the time, I just want to veg out in front of the television, watching endless reruns. No thinking required, you know?

  4. Lauren@Baseballs&Bows Said,

I have been unmotivated recently as well, for no good reason. I am sorry this time of year is difficult for you. I will be thinking about you!

  5. Debi Said,

I’ve really been thinking about you a lot the past week, knowing how hard this time of year is. Just do whatever it takes to get through, Stacy! And if that includes taking a blogging break, do it. And do some fun pampering stuff, just for you. Take care, sweetie! And know there are lots of people out here thinking about you! (Well, I am, anyway, and I strongly suspect I’m not alone.)

  6. Shawna Said,

Sending prayers:) Maybe you could schedule a blog vacation if you want. Sometimes I get stuck in a rut, too and have occasionally taken several days off.

  7. Gail Said,

    I’m sorry, no fun. 🙁
A break can be good though….I might need to do it too.

But I do want to hear about the things on your list, well maybe not the rat if that’s what it is and I might have seen the picture already. But you can email me or tell me next time I’m there.

  8. annie Said,

    I’m sorry too Stacy. 🙁
    Your list sounds interesting!

  9. jen Said,

I’m sending you hugs for this time of year. I wish you rainbows and plenty of sunshine, sweet tea and butterflies…..smile.

  10. Eileen Said,

I’m sorry this time of year is hard for you! I am thankful that I am a mother (after one bio child, 12+ years of infertility, and then 2 daughters adopted from China) but this Mother’s Day will be bittersweet for me as it will be the first one since I lost my mom. She died of cancer last July.

I’ll be praying for all those struggling with the holiday this year!

  11. Sadie Said,

I’m sorry you’re feeling blue. I, of all people, understand the need to take a blogging break.

I hope you find your way out of your rut soon. In the meantime you could eat a lot of ice cream and cuddle with Beau.

  12. Dawn Said,

    (((HUGS)))

At least you know when you’re ready to blog again that you have lots of topics available!

  13. Dawn P Said,

I said something along the same lines today about Mother’s Day. I just don’t care for this time of the year but it’s because I want to be a mom so bad and it looks like it’s just not happening.

I do hope thins get better for you but if you take a break I know we all will understand and hope you’ll be back soon~

  14. Brit' Gal Sarah Said,

    Sending you HUGS Stacy

  15. Kim Said,

    Dear Stacy…
    (hugs)
I am so sorry for your pain. I can only imagine the disappointment and pain this time of year must mean for you.
Just so you know, I would love to hear all about the things you mentioned as possible topics for your blog, so when you are ready, blog away and I will be enjoying away as I read!
(I emailed you earlier about Maisie Dobbs!)

  16. Coach Jenny Said,

I totally understand! I just went through that, and decided just to put blogging down until I felt better. Sometimes we just need to go out and live life without thinking about how we’ll write about it 🙂

  17. Kim Said,

92 degrees today by you???? How does THAT happen? I think we are supposed to get all the way to 62 today–watch out–we have a real heat wave going here!!! 🙂 I don’t remember a spring so cold and gray in a very long time. I know it will get hot again and then I will be complaining about that as I don’t like anything above 80. At least my work place is air conditioned–our home sure isn’t! I hope you have a wonderful day, even if it is hot!
    *smiles*
    Kim

  18. Jenny A. Said,

I have been thinking about my hubby this mother’s day—we lost her right after we were married in 1992. And I don’t think it gets easier for him. This is also the month of her birthday—and my mom’s birthday, too—so it’s really the month of mothers. But he did some secret shopping yesterday with my son, for me. I don’t know if he wants to or what! I ususally don’t say anything to him, but was considering asking him to share some stories about her when we go out for lunch Sunday.

Anyway, I hope you get back to blogging when you feel like it, and that it’s soon. 😉

  19. Kara Said,

Lots of hugs coming your way. Take a break if you need to and I’ll look forward to hearing about that rat when you come back!

  20. Kathy m Said,

Don’t forget you are a doggie mom and they are important too. ((hugs))

  21. Heidi Said,

It’s okay to be in a blogging rut. I pray that will have comfort during this time that is difficult for you.

  22. Barb @ A Chelsea Morning Said,

I know that Mother’s Day isn’t the greatest day of the year for some people and I’m sorry that it’s a sad time for you, Stacy.

You know what? I think we all hit this point, where we just don’t feel like blogging, and when we do, we should just take a little break. There have been times when I absolutely couldn’t come into this office and sit in front of this computer, for several days. So I didn’t.

Give yourself a break. And don’t throw that list away. Some of that stuff sounds very interesting. 🙂

  23. Rach (Heart of Rachel) Said,

Hi Stacy. Sending you a smile across the miles. Wishing you lovely days ahead.

  24. Judi Said,

Very understandable. Big hugs to you.

  25. Kim Said,

Just checking in with you to say hi from Seattle! I hope you are enjoying your books–especially Maisie Dobbs. Have you read anymore after the 1st one yet? Just wanted you to know I am thinking of you and sending happy thoughts to you.
    *smiles and hugs*
    Kim

  26. Scratchin' the Surface Said,

I wanted to let you know you won the copy of Christy on my blog giveaway, and you can email me at scratchinthesurface@gmail where you’d like me to mail it to you. It is my alltime favorite book, hope you will enjoy it too. Bev

  27. Maria Said,

I’m thinking of you. I’m sorry Mother’s Day is so hard for you. You are a doggie mama and that should be celebrated too. I look forward to catching up with your blog when you are up to it. I always love to read about your books!

  28. kathy m Said,

I think I fall in and out of love with blogging. I like that it makes me write and think about stuff, but then there are times when I just don’t have time or feel like I have anything to say. Give yourself sometime and a break.
