Happiness is…

Fruits and Veggies Happiness is a new shopping center that opened today, right down the street from me. It has our first “nice” grocery store, a Fresh Market. It has a big new Barnes and Noble and several other shops that I didn’t visit. YET. I’m a simple kind of girl – books and gourmet foods are enough to make me positively giddy! I browsed to my heart’s content at all of the books and magazines, then cruised through the bookmarks and bookends and odds ‘n ends. I have got to get some bookends for my bookcase. 🙄

I also cruised every single aisle in Fresh Market, picking up my free coffee and tasting all of the free samples they were giving away. I had some fresh pineapple, some pistachio nut and fruit mix, some organic yogurt with granola, a cheese wafer and some yummy cold sesame noodles from the deli. I read labels and looked at gourmet ingredients and generally had a nerdy-girl good time.

Anything exciting going on in your world today? Books and food, Dancing with the Stars and Idol, tomorrow night’s Lost… such happy things!

I wish we would get a higher end grocery store near me.

  2. Lynne Said,

There’s going to be a new Barnes & Noble opening about 2 miles from my house in about a month or so. I can’t wait! I’m even thinking of applying for a part time job. Can’t think of a better place to be.

  3. Heidi Said,

I like it when people can get excited about the little things.

  4. Karen Said,

That grocery store sounds wonderful. I wish we had something like that close to us. And if it had a B&N in the same place — oh my, Dan would have to send out the troops each night to get me to come home. Have fun with it!

  5. Maria Said,

Glad you had such a good outing! Those things would make me happy too. I didn’t get to see AI or Dancing with the Stars tonight as I was finishing report cards. Hopefully I can catch up on my DVR tomorrow night.

  6. Debi Said,

    B&N right down the street…WooHoo!

  7. mamichelle Said,

Oooh, the market sounds heavenly!! And a B&N too! You must be in Heaven.

  8. Gail Said,

Fun! Can’t wait to come check out those stores and the rest of them when they open. I just haven’t felt good this week and didn’t want to get out in the rain we were having.

  9. Kara Said,

A Fresh market and a Barnes and Noble?!?! I’m moving to your nieghborhood!

  10. Claire Said,

I am SO going to Fresh Market this weekend! I hae a feeling it’s more expensive but probably have more that other groceries don’t.

  11. Dianne Said,

Oooh that grocery store sounds like fun. If you ever came to Pgh., I’d take you to the Strip District. I used to, when I was a kid, think it was a very bad place! Really it’s just a section of town where you can buy just about any kind of ethnic food . . . reminds me of your new place for some reason.

  12. jen Said,

I would love this new market. My mom and I go to Sam’s once a month and hit all the samples…lol…Miller loves it. But your new store sounds great. I love those items you mentioned.
