Nada, Nothing

Coffee CupWell, here it is the fourth of March and I have yet to post anything this month. That’s a new one for me. Maybe after 3 years of blogging, I’ve finally run out of things to say 🙂

We’ve been staying busy. Tim is still working a lot at night and our schedules are all wonky. We sleep late, eat breakfast late, eat lunch in the middle of the afternoon and then a late dinner. Tim is up most nights until 1 or 2 AM, somethings 3, 4 or even 5 AM. I’m trying to keep to some kind of schedule, but it’s a losing battle. I’ll be glad when things normalize a bit around here.

We had a busy weekend. We drove down to see my dad and work on some things around the house for him. He’ll be 85 next month but he still lives alone and can do most everything for himself. We worked on his computer a bit, and Tim climbed up on the ladder and cleaned out his gutters all the way around his house. We definitely didn’t want him on the ladder 🙂 We’re still trying to teach him to use his DVD player. He got it a couple of years ago and I’ve been buying him old John Wayne movies, but he can’t figure out how to get it all going. Hopefully, he will soon. 🙂 I know he gets lonely and misses my mom.

I’ve been reading some really good books lately 🙂 I’m going to try to do a book post later in the week.

I haven’t been cooking a whole lot. Well, I cook every day and we eat three meals a day here most of the time. But it’s easy stuff like sandwiches, breakfast food, po-boys, soup, tacos, etc. I made a loaf of banana bread over the weekend that was really good though 🙂 We’re going to have a friend over Thursday to watch Lost and we’ll order pizza. Then Tim’s parents are coming for a visit on Friday, so we’ll all go out to eat. That’s one reason I haven’t been posting my menu every Monday. Too boring.

Hope you all have a wonderful day! I’m going to try to get some time in on the treadmill. That, cleaning and laundry!

  1. Desert Songbird Said,

Funny – I haven’t had much inspiration to post, and then an article fell across my view, and now I’ve got a post I’m writing. Then, I open this morning’s sports news, and although my post is short and sweet, I had to say something about the retirement (sob!) of Brett Favre.

THEN, I had a weird dream last night that prompted me to think of ANOTHER post. So, voila! Inspiration!

  2. Debi Said,

That would be a tough schedule to get used to, but still sounds like nice, happy life 🙂

  3. Heidi Said,

That’s okay to skip posting for a bit. I wish that I had been reading more. I really need to get my next book club book and read it. I want to get it from the library but I haven’t even requested it yet….

My husband took a vacation day today to do the grout and maybe look at the fridge more, so I might be posting more pictures later. 🙂

  4. Lauren@Baseballs&Bows Said,

I can’t wait to read your book reviews. I have on planned for Thursday, and I’ll be giving away two book so make sure you drop by!

  5. sherry Said,

Looking forward to your book post! I haven’t had much time to read lately, but I am trying! It feels like I am going up, up, up this big hill, but once I get to the top, things will pick up speed! (That was a strange analogy, no?)

  6. jen Said,

Treadmill time is what I need….and something called sit ups….esp with spring and summer coming up. I love Po Boys…I used to order them in Florida all the time. GOOOOOOD.
Your drink list sounds really good too. My top would be Margaritas….and of course just about any of those slushie drinks at Sonic….yum yum.
Hope you are having a good day….and week.

  7. mamichelle Said,

Oooh, I hate those schedule changes. Good luck getting on track.

I can’t wait to hear about your books!!

  8. Kim Said,

Good t o hear from you! I have missed hearing from you, but goodness knows we have all taken blogging breaks and there is more to life than blogging! 😉 Your schedule does sound a bit wonky, but how nice you have the freedom to adapt to Tim’s schedule! I am looking forward to your book post. Just so you know, sometimes when it looks like I haven’t blogged on my main site, I have posted something on my book page. I have taken great joy in making more time to read again, this winter. Less t.v. and more reading! Have a happy Tuesday….oh, and thank you for the sweet comment on my tooth entry!
    *smiles*

  9. Gail Said,

That is a tough schedule to get used to!
Glad y’all got Daddy all fixed up, and maybe he’ll get the dvd player this time.
I’m still trying to cook out of my freezer…..I was able to use 2 things from it last night and something from pantry but had to go get a package of frozen veggies from store, darn it!
Who’s coming on Thursday? I’m gonna be SO bummed when there are no more new Lost shows on!

  10. Maria Said,

Wow, I don’t envy you that schedule at all. Sounds like you have a fun weekend planned with your Lost night and Friday night guests. I’m looking forward to your book post.

I always enjoy your posts, even if some time passes in between.
