Well, it’s an “extra” day today. Only happens every four years. You think there’d be some kind of celebration or “National Holiday” or something to commemorate Leap Day, wouldn’t you?! Are you doing anything different or special today?
I mentioned it the other day to Tim, and he said, being the sweet, supportive husband that he is, “you ought to do something special on your blog.” When I asked what, he said to ask a special “Question of the Day“. So, when I asked, here’s what he said!
If you could do anything or go anywhere you wanted today, where would it be? Here’s the stipulations – money is no object, but time is. You only have 24 hours to accomplish this. You can leave the house at 12:01 AM but you have to be back by midnight. You can go anywhere you want, with anyone you want. But here’s the catch – you have to be willing to do this every four years on Leap Day. You have to go to the same place, do the same things, with the same people. Where would you go or what would you do and who with?
Leave me a comment and let us know… after all, this was Tim’s “Question of the Day”!!!
Have a great Leap Day 😀
Hmmm….that takes some thinking. Off the bat, I’d say I’d hop a plane and spend a few hours at the beach in San Diego. It’s only about an hour or so flight, and I could get in some serious beach time.
BTW, I’m attending a wedding this evening. Who would plan a wedding for Leap Day?!
I heard someone I knew on the radio calling in their anniversary! So I guess the memorable date works for some people!
Right off the bat, I’d want to fly up to my sister’s new home in Salt Lake City, but that wouldn’t be possible I think. Too much lag time in airports. Unless I took a chartered jet!! We could go shopping and hire babysitters for her kids and/or go skiing.
Alternatively, I could go to New Orleans and shop and eat like crazy. I think I could get a flight form here to Houston (our airport only goes to Houston or Dallas) and then onto New Orleans. I love to be there with the fun food and architecture and music.
If money was no object i would hire a babysitter and then go on a shopping spree in a limo, making sure to buy a bunch of stuff for charity too. I would also buy extravagant gifts for all the poor people whose birthday is today. I feel so sorry for them that they get cheated out of a bday 75% of the time!!!
Well, I guess hopping on a plane to Aruba is out of the question. There’s not enough time to get to the beach and back. If there was time, I’d join my friend who lives in MI.
I’m at a loss here. Ok, how about flying down to see my online friend in MD for a crop. That’d be fun!
Ok, I changed my mind already. I’d fly to Michigan to have a long lunch with my BFF!! We see each other every few years so I suppose we could wait until the next leap year!
I would hop on a plane and visit as many far away friends as possible in the 24 hours… breakfast with one, lunch with the next… etc!
I would go to the beach down in Destin…ALONE! And just lay there all day, watch the sun set, and then go for a nice quiet dinner alone. 🙂
Since I only have 24 hours, I’d call my mom and we’dhop a plane to NYC and shop for awhile then head to Niagara Falls. We’d picnic while we were there and take in some of the beautiful scenery.
That’s kinda hard! The part about it being the same everytime, so that knocked out visiting the kids b/c what if they moved! Then I might have said go some place overseas I haven’t been, like Italy or London but hard to do that in 24 hrs and be back. I could always pick NYC, shopping and plays, but I always would want to go every year instead of every 4.
What was y’all’s answer?
I think I would just have a relaxing day ALONE! Maybe just check into a hotel by the beach for the day and read!
Something to do with Red Sox & Spring Training. I don’t care what exactly. Just as long as it involved that. Sheesh I miss baseball.
I would charter a helicoptor and fly up to the Grand Canyon with hubby and just sit and soak up that view with a picnic for a few hours, before flying back
I’d fly to LA with Scott to have lunch\dinner with my dear friend F. We have been BFF since 6th grade.
Walk the ocean with Scott while I was there…she lives in Huntington Beach.
