No Menu, but a plan for Monday

Candy CaneI’m not going to play along to Menu Plan Monday this week, although I do have to cook some this week! Tim is out of town some on business, so I won’t have to cook for a couple of nights. I didn’t really plan a menu last week, but I did really good. I cooked every day and we only went out to eat one night – on Friday, our traditional date night. We went to our favorite Mexican place. Tim had a combination fajita plate (chicken, beef, chorizo and shrimp) and I had shrimp enchiladas. We splurged and had some guacamole, so I was a happy girl!

I got on the ball last week and got some shopping done. Yeah! I was gone one day from 1:20 to nearly 10 PM that night. Believe me, I was worn out! I got a lot done, though, and I also ordered a bunch online. I have 4 orders coming over the next few days, and I love it. I love getting packages in the mail and I love knowing that those were presents I didn’t have to go out and pound the pavement for. I do have a few more gifts to go, most notably for Tim. He wants us to get a new stove this year, but gosh, that’s hard to wrap and put under the tree!

So, my plan for Monday is Christmas-related. I hope to get a lot of wrapping done today. I hope to start on my Christmas cards. That and a ton of housecleaning and laundry are my exciting plans for the day 🙂

Oh, and I still hope to do some blogging this week. I’ve had a ton of trouble lately with my laptop and I just haven’t had a lot of time to try to fix my computer, still blog and check out your blogs. My Google Reader is at nearly 375 new posts, so I’m not sure what I’m going to do about that. I’ve never actually hit that “Mark All as Read” button, but I may be getting close. I still have a book-related blog post I want to find time to write, and talk about some books I’ve read lately. Hopefully later in the week! I’m also planning to ask a couple more Christmas-themed “Question of the Day” this week. They’re basic questions, but I always think it is fun to see what everyone else thinks and does at their house for Christmas. 😀

Have a great day, everyone!!

  1. jen Said,

You seem to have a great day….hanging out at home wrapping presents and doing your cards. Sounds like a great day…make you some cocoa and turn some Christmas music on…..

  2. Heidi Said,

That mexican food sounds delicious!!! Good job on your shopping. I’m hoping to get out tonight and finish up a lot of it, and this afternoon I’m going to look online.

  3. Desert Songbird Said,

I try not to let my Google Reader get too much above 100. I subscribe to about 60 blogs, so that’s not too bad, but there are days when I’m temped to mark all as read. I’ve done it only once, however.

I love shopping online. It’s so much easier than trying to find a place to park at the stores and standing in line at register. Plus, I can usually find that hard-to-find stuff that’s rarely stocked in the stores! Win-win.

  4. Lauren@Baseballs&Bows Said,

I hope you get a lot done! I have most of my presents, but none are wrapped. I need to get busy on that too!

  5. Kim Said,

    Hi Stacey!
It sounds like you have had a productive few days!! I started my shopping in earnst–mostly stuff for my husband. We are going to try to go out tonight and shop for the kids. I really want to start that wrapping as it is so time consuming, but we need to get the gifts first!

    Happy cozy Monday to you–
    *smiles*
    Kim

  6. sherry Said,

Have a fun week! And don’t feel guilty about hitting the “mark all read” button! It will fill up again soon enough! If you don’t want to do that, do what I do — SKIM! Sometimes I will have 25-50 posts from ONE blog! I just skim and see which ones interest me most! (Obviously I have some blogs I just read once in awhile and others I read every day!)

    Hugs,

    Sherry

  7. Gail Said,

I need to finish shopping & sewing so I can get to the wrapping! I probably shouldn’t have done a menu either but now it looks like I might should have done more of one!

  8. Dawn P Said,

I’m fianlly done shopping and wrapping! Yippie…but the cards…now I’ve got to get busy and get them done and out. I’m ususally have them in the mail by now and haven’t even started!

  9. Laurie Said,

I use bloglines and I’ve been tempted to push the mark all button too. 😉 Sometimes you just need a clean slate. Enjoy your Christmas wrapping and I hope you get some time to yourself this week.

  10. Fresh Girl Said,

Wow, that was a marathon shopping trip! Glad you got a lot done. If I can ever finish this blasted scrapbook for my Mom, I’ll finally be done. 😉

I’m looking forward to more Christmas QOTDs!

  11. theresa Said,

We must be trading off, after about a 3 week lay off, I am back to menu planning, funny how life happens!

  12. Karen Said,

It sounds like you’re right there in the Christmas groove and having fun with it. Looking forward to your QOTD:)

  13. Shawna Said,

I still have a lot of wrapping and stuff to do. Our living room was clean, but now it’s full of gifts, wrapping paper, and gift boxes. Maybe that will encourage me to get it done. We have picture Christmas cards ordered and hopefully they will come in tomorrow so I can get those out, too.

  14. Debi Said,

Nearly 9 straight hours of shopping…I think I would implode! I love shopping on-line, too! Amazon always takes a lot of our money at Christmas!

Hope your holiday chores go smoothly, and you enjoy yourself! (I spent 14 hours wrapping over the weekend, and I’m only about half-way done…ugh.)
