QOTD – Are you a Klutz?

Question of the DayToday, I have to go to that doctor, so I’m not a very happy camper this morning. I know I’ll feel better later on, when it’s all over with. I like to plan something a bit fun to do after it’s over, so you know what? I’m going grocery shopping this afternoon 😀 I love to go shop for food, so that will be sort of like a reward for me.

Ok, today’s Question of the Day is short and sweet – are you a klutz? Are you clumsy like me? Are you forever tripping over things, running into things, slipping while chopping vegetables and slicing your finger? Yep, I do all of those and more. I burned myself on the waffle iron a couple of weeks ago, when I was making waffles. I ran into something (I have NO idea what!) and had a big purple bruise on my leg for several days. I came around the corner of the bathroom brushing my teeth, and whacked my elbow into the door frame. I’m forever doing things like that. Our coffee table in our living room has been in the same spot for years, but that doesn’t mean I don’t stub my toe on it every few months!

How about you? Do you consider yourself clumsy? Or is anyone in your family like this? Leave me a comment and let me know 🙂

  1. Simply Dawn Said,

Yep I’m the clumsy one. We keep burn cream in the kitchen because once of week I’m going to burn myself somehow. Oh and there’s the things called doors….I run into them nonstop 🙂

  2. mamichelle Said,

Yup, that’s me!! They used to call me Grace when I was younger. I have a bruise the size of Texas on my shin right now. My dh asked what I ran into and I said I have no idea! It hurts though! LOL

You always come up with the best questions!

Good luck at the yuck dr. and enjoy your shopping trip.

  3. Desert Songbird Said,

I am an A#1 klutz. I’ve even gone so far as to sprain my ankle while wearing tennis shoes and standing still. How does one do that?

My knuckles are always scraped, I have numerous bruises (which isn’t great, since I’m on blood thinners), and I almost always have a cut on a finger or arm somewhere.

    Sigh.

    It’s not easy being me.

  4. Rach (Heart of Rachel) Said,

Sometimes I can’t help being one. There are just days when one “klutz incident” multiplies to several. I hate it when that happens.

  5. Kim Said,

OH yeah! Mystery bruises abound on my body and let’s not even get into the number of sliced up fingers I have from the kitchen. I hope all goes well at your appointment today. I have an appointment with mine at the end of the month–been putting that visit off for 2 years–figured it was about time!!!
    *hugs*
    Kim

  6. Susanne Said,

I’m not too bad, but my legs do bruise very easily, so sometimes I have no idea where I’ve gotten the bruises from.

  7. Bev Said,

I feel so out of place. I don’t think I am too much of a klutz, but my sister trips over the patterns in the rug.

Good luck with the appointment. I really, really hate those things.

  8. Gail Said,

Well I don’t think I’ve ever considered myself a klutz or clumsy………..but after that incident last week when I fell over the dishwasher door I have to wonder! In my defense, it was in total darkness with the blackout we were having in town. Only once in a while do I cut myself, when I get in a hurry. But I do walk into doors or cabinets or doorframes so maybe I’ll have to rethink it!

  9. Vail Said,

I am forever having big bruises appear on my legs that I just don’t remember getting! Guess I’m a klutz – but I must also have alzheimer’s since I can’t remember earning my bruises!

  10. Lynne Said,

Yep! I have bruises all the time on my legs but I don’t know how I got them. I keep walking into walls – actually the walls move and bump into me! I’ll bang into doorways and cabinets.

Have “fun” at the doctor today! The things we women have to do!

Bev – I love the line about your sister tripping over the patterns in the rug!

  11. Debi Said,

Yep. Definitely. My mom dubbed me “Grace” as a child, and well, let’s just say she’s had no reason to drop the moniker.

  12. heather Said,

    Total klutz!

  13. Kara Said,

Hope your trip to the doctor was a fun as can be expected…the bright side is that you’ll be off the hook for at leat another year, right?!?!

I am somwhere inbetween klutz and grace. But I figure I am doomed – my mother can fall down just about anywhere at any time for no apparent reason (we were talking in the driveway once when she just went down!).

  14. Sadie Said,

Yes, yes, and yes. It’s awful.

  15. Sonya Said,

I’m the same way. I don’t try to be this way, it just sort of happens. I burn myself all the time when I’m baking. My elbow is always banging a doorway. I’m always slipping on rugs. Just a few days ago, I was going down the stairs in socked feet and slipped. Thankfully I caught myself on the walls (they are very narrow). If I hadn’t, I could have done some serious damage.

  16. theresa Said,

Yes I am a klutz, although fairly graceful in the water if I do say so myself.
My biggest klutziest move is dropping food on my brand new white shirts- never fails.

  17. Claire Said,

No fun! I was talking about THAT doctor with one of my classmates today…one of those things that, once a year, is okay! Nope, don’t really consider myself a klutz BUT the other day, if you had been walking behind me on my way to work, you would have thought I am! I was coming down a little hill towards Lakeland and my right foot twisted under me; so, to correct, my right knee bent instead of straightened. THis made my LEFT foot twist under me. I kind of galloped and then just kept walking like nothing happened…you see, there are a girl behind me and I KNEW she had seen me! It was funny. I figure, I must have strong bones and ligaments b/c, I’ve done that before and have yet to sprain or break anything. Hope that continues! 🙂

  18. Cam Said,

I hope the Dr. visit was painless, and that you had fun shopping!

I’m fairly clumsy, but not super-bad. Philip is pretty clumsy, though. G is just a mess, but I guess that’s due to his age. LOL

It always seems like the worst bruises come from things I can’t remember!

  19. Kelly Said,

Oh yes, one big Klutz over here.

  20. Southern Girl Said,

A day late and a dollar short, but no, I’m not much of a klutz. Since falling could be a very bad thing for me, I’ve always been very careful whatever I’m doing. Overly cautious, you might say. Both my parents, on the other hand, regularly trip over the right corner of my bed at the foot. 😉

  21. Sindee Said,

I’m a bit clumsy at time. Most of my clumsiness involves dropping things though. I do get bruises sometimes and have no idea where they came from.
Hope the doctor’s visit went well for you. Can definitely relate. 🙂

  22. Bev Said,

I’m supposed to tell you that “you’ve been tagged”. 😉 I know you’ll love that.
