QOTD – Watch

WatchToday’s Question of the Day is all about your watch. 🙂

Do you wear a watch every day? Do you wear it on your left wrist or your right? Do you have more than one watch? Do they bother you, or do you feel naked without yours on?

My answers: I wear a watch most of the time. I always wear one when I leave the house. I have two watches – a nice one and a sports one. I wear the sports one if I am going walking, going somewhere really casual, etc. Otherwise, I wear my nicer watch. I always wear mine on my left wrist. I have always heard that you do that if you are right-handed. Not sure. 🙂 I sometimes wear one around the house. It all depends. I am wearing one more now because we’ve taken down our clock in our living room. We’re looking for another one, a bigger one, and right now, there is not a clock hanging in the spot where there has been one for over 14 years. I find myself glancing at that spot all day long, trying to find the clock. So, I’ve taken to wearing my watch instead. Make sense?

How about you? Do you wear a watch regularly, and if so, which wrist? Leave me a comment and let me know!

Have a great day

  1. Gail Said,

I wear one ALL the time! I feel lost without it but once in a while I take it off when I’m around the house. Mostly I wear it on my left wrist, occasionally on the right. I feel naked without it, it doesn’t bother me at all.
And I have several watches and will wear what goes with what I’m wearing! I do have a casual, digital one that I bought when I was with you at Target once and that’s the first one of those I’ve ever had. My others are a silver Fossil, gold Fossil, black one with stretchy bead band, and a brown one. Right now I wear the black one the most….the band on my silver Fossil is messed up and we can’t find a band for it!

  2. Southern Girl Said,

I haven’t worn a watch in years! Since I was pretty much homebound for several years, I really didn’t need one, but lately I’ve been looking around for a new one. I think I want something that’s a happy medium between dressy and sporty. When I DO wear a watch, it’s always on my left wrist.

  3. Bev Said,

I wear a watch all the time. Right now it’s on my right wrist because I have a brace on my left. I’ve got a lot of watches and don’t really switch out. My favorite I have to get a battery for and keep forgetting to take it with me when I leave to go shopping so I generally end up getting a cheapie watch at Walmart when I’m there. It’s an old military style chronograph with no fancy bells and whistles. All but one of my watches are water resistant because I really never take them off. I do have one expensive one that I treated myself to a long time ago. I’ve got to get a battery for it, too. 😉 Diamond where 12:00 is, no numbers, gold rectangular case, and black leather band. Oh and a couple of Rolex knock-offs that found their way here in the mail one day from a friend who was transferred to China for their job. Oops! Maybe I shouldn’t mention that. 😉

  4. Karen Said,

I rarely wear a watch anymore. When I’m out I always have my cell phone with me, so that’s my clock. At home, I have clocks in every room, even little decorative ones in the bathrooms to help the kids keep track of time when they’re getting ready for school. I used to never be without a watch — until I started lugging kids around, and then I was forever getting the kid caught on the watch or vice versa. On the rare occasion that I do wear one, it’s a lovely Brighton watch that my husband gave me for my birthday a few years ago, and I wear it on my left wrist.

  5. Lynne Said,

I always wear my watch. Got in the habit when I was first in nursing school. I have a cheap Timex that lights up at night, with an expansion band. I only take it off when I have my hands and arms in water. Always wear it on my left wrist. I feel naked when it’s not on – like right now! I took it off to do dishes and forgot to put it back on.

Stacy – you mentioned not having a clock. We have clocks in every room – in fact, from my living room, I can see about 4 clocks! I have a clock that had been my father’s that my brother gave to me last year. It’s a wind-up clock with Westminster Chimes. I had it repaired and it worked for a while, but it’s been stuck at 1:50 for months now. I need to get it working again – I really miss the chimes.

  6. mamichelle Said,

Hehe, love it, Stacy! I’d be doing the same. When you’re used to something being in one spot, you cannot break that habit.

I have a bunch of watches. I never pay more than $20 for them so that’s why I have so many. I wear one of three dressy ones to work. One is beaded that I made at a jewelry party (my fav), one is black beaded with a stretchy band I got on sale for $10. Another is silver.

My casual watches: a printed corduroy band, a chunky silver, a blue leather band, a black leather band, a brown leather band. I wear these on the weekends.

I almost always leave the house with a watch. Sometimes they bother me typing at work so I take them off.

You always come up with the greatest QOTD’s!

  7. heather Said,

I do wear a watch all the time (except in the shower and to sleep). I wear it on my right arm (I am left handed and I also heard that if you are right handed you wear it on your left and if you are left handed you wear it on your right to avoid it being in the way to write). My watch was given to me by my mother in law many years ago when my watch had broken. It is a 9.99 watch from Avon which I get so many compliments on which makes me laugh b/c it is the cheapest yet obviously the nicest one I have ever worn!

  8. Eileen Said,

I wear one every day on my left wrist – I would be lost without it. I don’t like spending a lot of money on a watch, usually get a $20ish Timex, something like that.

  9. Heidi Said,

I do wear a watch 95% of the time. I wear it on my left wrist even though I write left handed.
I have another one, but it doesn’t have a working battery right now.

  10. Lauren@Baseballs&Bows Said,

My watch battery died several years ago, and I never got it replaced!

  11. Laura Said,

    Every day!
Left wrist, but I can do either from my years of having allergic reactions to watchbands and I would switch wrists every day.

  12. Sonya Said,

I would like to wear one but alas, every watch I buy dies! I cannot keep a battery going! When I do wear one, which is very rarely, it goes on my left wrist and comes off as soon as I get home!

  13. Momma Said,

I NEVER wear one! I have several very nice ones. I guess I have gotten used to getting the time off my cell phone.

  14. theresa Said,

It is kind of funny that I do not wear a watch because I am an excessively early person.
I do wear a watch when I swim in the pool so I can time my laps and then I wear it on my left wrist.
I own 2 watches, my swim sport watch and a watch that my mother bought me when I graduated college.

  15. Melody Said,

I wear it only when I’m at work. Need to check the time!!! And I wear it on my left wrist since I’m right handed.

  16. Jill Said,

I wear a watch most of the time, and always on my left wrist (I’m right handed). I always wear one to work, and, on the rare occasion I forget it, I do feel lost without it. If I’m working out, playing with the kids outside, doing housework, etc. I don’t wear it. I own several fashion-type watches, but I have a nice Bulova that I wear the majority of the time.

  17. Carrie Said,

I used to wear a watch everyday on my left arm. When my favorite one broke a year or so ago, I never replaced it. I just don’t feel the need for one anymore. Clocks are everywhere we go!!

  18. Cam Said,

I have a sport watch that I wear when I walk, and usually whenever I go out unless I’m dressed up. I have a dressy watch that I used to wear when I was dressed up, but it stopped working and I haven’t been willing to spend money on another one that I don’t technically need.
I don’t generally wear a watch around the house- only when I need one.

  19. Stacy aka Vaders Mom Said,

I haven’t worn a watch since we moved to Texas. I just look at my cell phone to see what time it is. Or like now…my laptop is telling me.
