The Middle Name Meme

I’ve been tagged by several ladies to do the “Middle Name” meme. I’ve been in a decidedly non-tagging mood lately, but for whatever reason, I always feel terribly guilty for not doing them 🙂 So, without further ado, here’s my attempt at the Middle Name tag.

First, the rules:

1. You have to post these rules before you give the facts.

2. You must list one fact that is somehow relevant to your life for each letter of your middle name. If you don’t have a middle name, use the middle name you would have liked to have had.

3. At the end of your blog post, you need to choose one person for each letter of your middle name to tag. Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’re tagged, and to read your blog.

Second, my middle name:

Herein lies one of the problems of me doing this tag and passing it along. I technically consider my maiden name to be my middle name now. When I got married, I dropped my given middle name that I received at birth. However, since I don’t wish to “advertise” my current middle name (my maiden name), I’ll revert to my given middle name. Which is short – three letters! So, I’m afraid this won’t be a very interesting middle name meme 🙂

A Analytic. I have a fairly analytical mind, or at least I like to think I do! I have a degree in mathematics and computer science, and I worked with engineers and analysts for years. I don’t think like most women do, and I am usually more comfortable around men, who think logically and not emotionally. I work really hard at thinking more like women and relating to my fellow females, but when it comes to certain things, I am very logical, very processed, very analytical.

N Neat. See description of the letter “A”. My mom was a “a place for everything, everything in its place” kind of mom. I learned early on to be neat. To make my bed every day. To put things back where they belong. To organize and sort things. Being a logical sort of girl, this goes right along with my way of thinking 🙂

N Nutty. If you’ve read the previous two descriptions, you should now have no doubt that I’m a little bit on the nutty side . I think I’m a fairly nice person, but let’s face it, I’m a bit nutso 🙂 Seriously, I don’t think I have that many hang-ups, but my friends and family LOVE to point out all of my shortfalls and less than stellar character traits, so I’m sure they would all come up with a lot more reasons than this to call me a little bit nutty. 🙂

Third, I’m supposed to tag another set of bloggers, equal to the number of letters in my middle name. I’m now going to completely buck the trend and not play along. I won’t tag anyone specifically, as this one has been going around a bit. But, please feel free to play along if you’d like, and be sure to leave me a message if you do – so I can come visit you and read your much-more-interesting answers to this meme!

  1. Desert Songbird Said,

I’m married to an engineer, and I worked with accountants for several years, so I’m familiar with the analytical mind. I’m a right-brained, creative thinker, and it drives hubby bonkers on occasion. Then again, we complement each other, so it works!

  2. theresa Said,

really enjoyed your post! I too dropped my middle name when I got married and legally changed it to my maiden name. Analytical- hey I am a high school math teacher- your mom and I share the same motto- however when it comes to crumbs I and dust I am not that neat. My college roommate and I always told people we were unique and that made us 2/3 of a mixed nut because in the because there is a u and n in unique but the u comes bofore the n therefore the mixed part.

  3. twiga92 Said,

Hey! that’s my middle name! It’s even spelled the same :-). I kept my middle name when I got married and dropped my maiden name completely.

  4. Karen (mommy of three) Said,

Fun post! I got passed over in the analytical department, but neat and nutty are up there.

It is interesting how family does tend to point out the “finer” qualities in us. lol.

I’ll definitely post on this, so stop by if you wish!

  6. Kim Said,
