Easter Weekend

I’m really late blogging about our Easter weekend. Just been really busy and still trying to get over this sinus stuff. I think I’m starting to turn the corner though, and feel better. 🙂

We left Saturday afternoon for Tim’s parents house. As we were pullling out, he called his mom on his cell phone to see if she needed us to stop and pick up anything (she didn’t), and as he was talking, my cell phone rang, and it was Tim’s brother Terry. He wanted us to go to Home Depot and get some wiring stuff. That little side trip (a funny story in itself) took about an hour and put us later than we had planned on getting there. We did beat the rain though, but a couple of hours after we got there, it started raining and storming and it was a rough night.

Tim went up to the shop to help Terry and his uncle Tony work on electrical wiring in the shop. The kids and Linda and Mitchell and I watched a movie I had gotten at the library on VCR tape, on Gail’s recommendation. Gail was right, it was a good movie! We watched all but the last few minutes of it, waiting on the guys and on Mark and Amanda and the kids to get there. We didn’t get to finish the movie, so I got Tim to watch it with me Sunday night, and we both really enjoyed it. It’s called “Joshua” and I am going to go put a review on Hambones tomorrow or the next day – great movie.

Anyway, we had supper and visited, and then the kids dyed Easter eggs. Ethan even tried to eat one or two of the ones he took out of the dye! 🙂 About 1o:30 or 11, Tim and I took our air mattress up to Terry’s and slept in his den. We figured Mark, Amanda, Ethan and Abby needed more space than one full-size bed, so we tried to give them the other air mattress or the couch. It was good of Terry to let us stay up at his house!

Clear Springs has sunrise service on Easter morning, so we had an early start to Sunday. I got up about 5:45 and got ready, then we had church, then breakfast aftewards at the church. We came back and took some pictures while everyone was still dressed up, and I will post those whenever Amanda sends some to me from her camera (didn’t use mine for the big group shot). I hope they turned out!

Linda’s family came to eat lunch, and since there were so many people (I’m g uessing 50 to 60, maybe more, maybe less), we had it up at Terry’s shop. The guys had borrowed tables and chairs from the church Saturday evening, and we had a full house. It was good to get to see everyone! Daddy drove up from Hattiesburg and ate and visited with everyone and I think he had a good time. I know we did, but we were tired when we got home late Sunday afternoon. We took a long nap after we got in!

Then, Tim watched “Joshua” with me, and it was as good or better the second time! I highly recommend this movie to anyone, it was clean (“G” rated), had a great message about God’s love, and was very quaint, charming and funny. We thoroughly enjoyed it, and just wished they made another 20 or 25 movies a year like this one! Then, I got Tim to tape “Suzanne’s Diary for Nicholas” on CBS, but he started watching it with me, and we ended up watching the whole thing. Kinda cool, because I just finished reading the book last week!

  1. Gail Said,

I want to know if you have all of last night’s movie taped and if you do, save it for me so I can watch it!
