A Day to Relax…

Apparently, today is National Relaxation Day. Hunh. Sounds like a great day to me! Unfortunately, I’ve already been pretty busy today and have a lot more to do.

We hit a record yesterday, 106º. Ugh. Today is only supposed to be 103. Double Ugh. I’m just so very grateful that we have AC. My dad’s unit broke earlier in the week and he’s been without cool air for days now. He had the people out to service it on Monday, then it went out and they came back on Tuesday to repair a part. It was working when they left, but Dad said it was blowing hot air a couple of hours later. He’s still waiting on them to come back and fix it. I couldn’t talk him into coming up here to where we do have A/C – he wants to be there to “supervise” and have them fix it. I can’t blame him, but I do worry about him in this heat. He’s 84 and no AC at that age worries me.

Let’s see, Tim played golf late yesterday, again in this heat. I think he’s nuts, but he says he is fine and he’s “getting used to the heat”. πŸ˜€ We went out and ate Mexican last night after he got back, yummy. I’m already off my menu for the week though, which I dislike. I love my routines! πŸ™‚ We went on our walk really early this morning, then we went to the Saints last day of training camp. They travel later today and have another preseason game Saturday night. It was moderately warm. I’m just grateful we didn’t go yesterday afternoon when it was so much hotter. I have to load my photos, then I’ll post some later over on my Project365 blog.

I have some cleaning and chores to do today, but mostly I plan to sit inside, in the air conditioning! Maybe I can get some “relaxin” in too, since it’s a holiday and all! πŸ™‚

Have a great day!!!!

  1. Amy Said,

Wow, I didn’t even realize with all my loafing this morning that I was celebrating this great day! So when my hubby calls to see what I’m doing I’ll let him know it’s a national holiday and to get his hiney home…but until he calls I’m going to keep playing on the computer!

I do hope they get your daddy’s ac fixed! It is too hot for him to be without it. I’m sure you check on him thoughout the day though!

    Try to stay cool!

  2. Cam Said,

I hope your dad’s a/c gets fixed today! That must be awful.

Too bad I can’t take advantage of this great holiday! I’d sure like to!

I’m glad you’ve had a good time the past couple of days but I KWYM about the routine–I love my routines, too.

Have a great day & stay cool!

  3. Heidi Said,

Thanks for giving me an excuse to relax today!

  4. Desert Songbird Said,

You mean they actually have a national day devoted to what I do best? Sweet! I’m such a slacker…

  5. Susanne Said,

What heat! I think I’d just shrivel right up!

  6. Heather Said,

My dad plays golf in the heat as well which I do not understand either! I remember calling him on his trip to Arizona where it was well over 100 degrees and he was on the golf course! Me I am all about the AC and any swimming possible!

  7. Carrie Said,

Well, shoot! Why didn’t ya tell me earlier??? LOL! Today’s been my busiest day all week, gosh darn it! LOL!

  8. Becky Said,

I sure wish I’d know about National Relaxation Day before I got going this morning! πŸ™‚ I’ve been cleaning all day and still working on catching up laundry! My hubby is off to play back to back softball games in 90+ weather! How do they do it???

  9. SnoopMurph Said,

It’s going to be 110 degrees here in Phoenix tomorrow. My boys have been cooped up most of the day, but if I let them out, they will play happily, even though they are sweat bombs.

  10. jen Said,

HOT HOT HOT! That’s all I have to say about that….

  11. Claire Said,

Apparently it’s a REAL holiday in Greece today! My resident is from there and he said everyone celebrates the Virgin Mary’s death today…or something like that. Anyway, no relaxation for us! It was work as normal…at least Im INSIDE the hospital and not outside!

  12. Dianne Said,

Isnt’ it funny we need an official day to relax! Stay cool!!

  13. Coach J Said,

Hate I missed the national holiday. It was the busiest day of my week. I think I’ll relax today! πŸ™‚

  14. Simply Dawn Said,

Girl this heat has been something around here. I’m ready for a change in the weather πŸ™‚

  15. And Miles To Go.... Said,

Huh, National Relaxation Day–I guess I can drop all housework today then, huh? πŸ™‚ Sounds a little suspicious if you ask me–along the same lines as on Mother’s Day we can take the day off and put our feet up?–LOL Never a day off for us women (smiles and grins)

    Bridget

  16. Dawn Said,

Sounds like you got our weather from the last month. Gross. It’s been a little better over the last couple of days. Only the low 90s. =P

  17. Gail Said,

I talked to him on Tuesday and he said they got it fixed, but that was mid day I think, I thought it was only out on Monday and Tuesday, guess I better check again!
Don worked hard yesterday, up in TN, I loafed b/c there was NOTHING to do there! I’d rather be doing something I think…..today he played in a tournament and I waited on internet man who finally showed up at 7ish and said, “yes there’s a problem” Duh, I think I’ve been telling them this for 3 years now!
