School days, Golden Rule days…. June 21, 2007
Since school is out for the summer (in most places, at least), here’s a school-themed question for the week:
Do you have any old school books? Did you keep yours from college? Old textbooks from garage sales? Old workbooks from classes gone by?
How about your old notes, exams, papers? Do you save them? Or have they long since gone to the great Locker-in-the-sky?
Well, you know, I would honestly have to go up in the attic and look. I think we finally got around to throwing most of them away. At least mine; we might have some of Tim’s. I have absolutely no desire to hang on to my mathematics and extremely out-dated computer text books. I’m pretty sure that Tim has at least a couple still hanging around that he wants to keep as a reference. I would throw them away if I could, but alas, he might actually want to use them one day (*snort*). 🙄
As far as old notes and exams and papers go, I would say that it is all gone too. I might have a stray exam or report around here, but not much. I know I have one large Rubbermaid tote that has some things from my childhood, and I believe the last time I looked through it, I had some reports I did in elementary school and junior high. High level stuff, to be sure 😀
It’s kinda fun to read old reports you did in school, isn’t it? I found this biography report I did back in 5th grade. It was titled “Vida Blue Isn’t Blue Anymore”…I’ll bet I thought that was such a cool title back then. LOL
I personally have one, an English handbook. I thought it would be helpful if I forgot the grammar rules, etc., or if my kids needed punctuation, grammar and writing help. Haven’t opened it.
My kids have a couple of books they didn’t return (grrrrr…..) and are probably outdated. So I was going to toss and then I thought better of it. I’m holding on to it in case I would like to try an altered book! LOL Someday maybe…
I just pitched (finally) some of my old history & lit textbooks from college. I still have my English workbook from my Sr. year of HS for some reason – can’t part with it.
I got rid of all my old notes, etc. before I got married 10 years ago. Just no room for boxes of mystery stuff! I’d like to find and read my sophomore term paper from HS again – I had a real dusie of a teacher who has since turned out to be a good friend. I’d like to read his comments – some lame excuse about why he had to be tough on me! 🙂
I’m sure there’s still a box of old papers up in the attic, some history notes and a few term papers. I have some of my textbooks from history — one written by my adviser and a few misc. ones. All up in the attic. That’s acutally on my to-do list, to clean things out up there. When I do, the box will go! Right now, I just can’t get to it!
I have my old law books to remind me I should have stayed in college!!! 🙂 And I have a few papers in a scrapbood I had way back then. It’s fun every now and again to go down memory lane 🙂
Hehe! yep, it must be a guy thing.
I guess I get it from my mom, because she has cabinets full of our childhood projects–she keeps saying she’s going to scrapbook them for us. One day.
I’ve kept all of my papers, but I wish I had some of my notes from my undergrad. They would have been helpful in my grad studies–but now that’s over, too. What I do have is boxed up, and I’m not sure why I keep it—but I do!
Mine textbooks was given back to teachers, when they requested it back. I kept some of my poems and notes too. I have this red chest box that I kept all of my school memories along with my childhood memories in it. The box is hidden in my closet with key lock. A few times in years, when I want to remember myself – I would open the chest box and go through everything…including my school notes and poem
Thanks for visiting my blog, Happy BTT!

I don’t think I have anything from very young days, but do have some college things. It’s funny to see where I dozed off and the pen line trails off in my notes. 🙂
I’ve kept a few nursing text books, but no notes or reports. I still refer to the textbooks every once in a while, although they’re probably out of date by now.
I’ve kept mostly all my textbooks. I need to throw away my Rubbermaid tote full of old exams and notebooks. But I can’t!
About Nextflix, you are the second person today to rave about the service. I might need to check them out.
I’ve thrown most of them away too, because they took up too much space!
