A Cup and a Movie

We’ve been really busy the last couple of days. Too busy to blog, I’m afraid, and this one is going to be short and sweet 🙂

We had a date night last night. Dinner at our favorite Chinese place, and then we went to the new Starbucks that recently opened in our little burg. After that, we rented “The Guardian” with Kevin Costner and Ashton Kutcher. Tim’s pick, but we both liked the movie. He really liked it and said he’d give it a 8.5 to a 9.0. I’d probably rate it a 7 or 8, but only because of the ending. It was like Top Gun except with Coast Guard and rescue swimmers instead of pilots. Good movie.

Quick Pic – this is what was on Tim’s Starbucks cup… loved it!

Starbucks Cup

Hope everyone is having a great weekend 😀

Wow, I’ve heard of sound bites but now we have wordbites. Or cupbites. Or slurpbites. Something like that.

  2. Becca Said,

How cool is that cup! Love it! Hope that you are having a great weekend!

  3. Carrie Said,

Love that cup! I don’t drink coffee so I’m not familiar with Starbuck’s cups, LOL.

We watched The Guardian a few months back and enjoyed it, as well. Tonight we watched the classic cartoon of *The Secret of NIMH*. Tomorrow night we’re watching Lake House. :o)

  4. Gail Said,

We ate chinese tonight and I’m sure I ate a bit too much!
    Yay for Starbucks! Cool cup.

AND, I’ve been waiting for you to watch that movie! So I could talk to you about it, or the ending rather! It was hard for me NOT to say anything to you about it when we watched it!

What else have you been doing? I got just a teeny bit of yardwork out of Don today!

  5. Dianne Said,

The Guardian sounds like a movie Mike would enjoy. And I love the Starbucks cup. Love good sayings like that.

    Enjoy your weekend!

  6. Sonya Said,

I liked that movie but was sad because of the ending. I like everything to turn out like a fairytale! LOL! The Starbucks cup says it all! I wish I could appreciate hot coffee but for now it’ll have to be iced!

  7. Cam Said,

Ah, a date. You are a lucky woman! 🙂
I’m glad you got to have Chinese. Yum!
    Love that quote. LOL

  8. Sandra Said,

Ahhhh I haven’t been on a date with my husband in 8 years LOL I wouldn’t know what to do with myself actually LOL

Will have to get that movie, I think my husband would like it.

    Have a great weekend,
    Sandra

  9. Susie Said,

You know what’s funny? My mind DID drift off while I was reading that coffee cup! David Shore is a genius.

I hope you’ll enjoy that Starbucks, in fact, I’m 99.999% positive that you will. I love ours – everyone is always friendly and the coffee is soooo good. 🙂

  10. Jane Said,

Wow, love the Starbucks cup! Great quote.

  11. Debi Said,

    Love that cup!

  12. Karen Said,

What a nice “date”! I would like to see the movie, I like most of Kevin Costner’s movies. We watched “Stranger Than Fiction” last night. It was unusual, but I liked it.

  13. Southern Girl Said,

Hee, I love that cup! I’d forgotten they have those at Starbucks. I’d ask my little brother to take a picture of his Starbucks’ cups (he’s there practically every day!) but he’s so addicted, he has a fancy Starbucks travel mug that has no words at all. 😉

Glad you had a good date night and enjoyed the movie. Ashton Kutcher gives me the creeps, so it’s probably one I’d better stay away from. ;-D

  14. Kim Said,

Love the cup! I just chuckle every time I look at your books on the side bar–we read so many of the same books. I just finished the Anne George one that you have up. I am really enjoying her books!

I hope you are having a good weekend.

  15. rach Said,

Hi Stacy. I’ve seen that movie too and I liked it. It made me truly appreciate people who devote their lives to help others. The ending was bittersweet but it was a good one nevertheless.

Talking about Starbucks, I was at one yesterday. I made the mistake of ordering the new Banana Mocha Frap. What was I thinking?! Too late, it didn’t taste good at all. But didn’t want to waste it so I just took small sips while I enjoyed conversation with myfriends.

  16. Write From Karen Said,

Aren’t those messages amazing? I can’t tell you the number of times I’ve smiled, or nodded my head in agreement with those Starbucks coffee cup messages. I have to say though, yours is the best I’ve seen yet.

And yes, it IS sad that our attention span is so short.

Wait, what was I talking about? *grin*

  17. Angie Said,

Just wanted to say hi! I haven’t done the menus in a while or blogged but saw yours and wanted to say hi!

  18. Suzanne Said,

What’d you get at Starbucks!!! My fav……………

  19. Shawna Said,

I enjoyed the Guardian, but only enough to watch it once. I liked Top Gun much better probably because of the love story.

    Love the photo!!

  20. trista Said,

The cup is great. That movie is on my movie list. Glad to hear you both liked it.
