OK, today’s Question of the Day is short and simple – when you see someone else yawn, do you yawn? I always, always do. I am totally convinced that yawning is contagious. Tim, on the other hand, doesn’t think so and swears up and down that he doesn’t yawn when he sees someone else doing it.
So, how about you? When you see someone else yawn, do you?!
Hm… I don’t really pay much attention. But I tend to only yawn when I’m really tired.
Only every.single.time. And it IS contagious. I think somebody somewhere proved that at some point. I yawn if my DOG yawns. LOL Very thought-provoking question.

I’m pretty sure I yawn most every time someone else does–even over the phone…
I’m thinking it’s contagious–I almost always yawn when someone else does. I’ve watched many people do the same thing. It would be interesting to know why!

Sunday mornings as a youth, I would sit in one of the first several rows at church, I would catch the eye of a choir member and make myself yawn. Then they would yawn. I would time how long it would take before the pastor (during the sermon) would yawn. My mom knew it was me and would laugh as she was telling me not to do it again. Of course, next Sunday…I was off and running. Horrible child I tell you!!
not always, but it seems to catch me when I am thinking of something else. Though it maybe odd to say, oh a yawn, dont yawn, don’t yawn, in my head.

Funny – the hosts on the local Christian talk show were talking about this tonight -actually having people call in with their opinions. They wanted to know if the sound of yawning (them yawning on air) made people yawn as much as seeing someone yawn! Yes, yawning makes me yawn!

Oh yes, I believe yawning is contagious. I always feel a yawn coming when I see others do it. I also observe how others yawn after they see me do it. I’ve tried it on my son. Sometimes at night, I pretend to give a big yawn to entice him to go to sleep. ha! ha! It works sometimes. 🙂

Yes, almost always. Just thinking about yawning can make me yawn.
