Now this is a holiday I can totally and thoroughly embrace – today is National Goof-Off Day! Click here to read a little bit about it. I thought it was sort of interesting that it all sort of stems from Nintendo and a study they did that showed males of a certain age would rather spend their free time playing video games than anything else. Well… DUH!
I’m actually going to do my very best to observe this most wonderful of holidays today. I’m hoping to goof-off and watch some TV, maybe catch up on reading blogs, and read a book. What about you? Oh, good for you! I would celebrate too, but unfortunately many of my days are already too full of goof-offedness! If I could take the rest of the day today to goof off, I would go curl up in bed with a couple of books and read/sleep/read/sleep. That sounds so heavenly!
I’m goofing off all day today. And tomorrow. I’ll probably watch The Nativity Story all by myself because my sweet husband surprised me with it last night.
If it were a little earlier, I would watch the DVD of Holiday that I bought several days ago.
But now I need a good sleep ‘coz it’s past 1 am.
I wish I had known this before I just spent about 2+ hours grocery shopping! Now I have tons of bags to unload and put away, then dinner to get started. Drats! Wanna come and help???
Goofing off for me means time to read! Or lay (lie?) out in the sun.
I am not very good at goofing off at home… I always have to be doing something productive. Hm. I guess browsing around blogs on the internet could be considered goofing off… and I do that plenty. 😀
Sleep and read. Sleep and read. That would be a great goof-off day! I was going to comment about the Thirteenth Tale. So that explains it! My subconscious must have somehow known this…because I seem to have accomplished very little thus far today!

I wish I had more time to goof off! Being that today is so nice, I think I would putz around outside.
I had no idea! And I’ve been working harder than usual today. Perhaps I’ll celebrate tomorrow instead…
Hmmmm….not study! As to the buttermilk, you can use a ratio of 2:1 milk:yogurt if you keep yogurt OR make sour milk with a cup of milk and (I think) a tablespoon of vinegar and let it sit for 5 minutes…you have buttermilk.
What I’d give to have a few hours to goof off outside today! The weather here is so perfect…I’d be out there with my camera if I could :))

Darn it all! I wish someone would have told me before I spent the day running errands, getting my eyes checked, getting the car serviced, getting estimates on a fence, being a mom, etc.
Maybe, I’ll observe it tomorrow…I finished up the Miss Julia I was reading. It’s my favorite so far!
