Writing in Books, Part Three

Booking Through Thursday

1) Speaking of writing in books, what about writing the entire thing? Do you write? Aspire to write? Dream about writing? I dream about writing, but I don’t think it’s anything I would ever do. I’d like to think I had the talent it takes to write some kind of book, but frankly, I don’t think I do. I’ve certainly never done anything towards that end. I didn’t take creative writing classes in college and I’ve never written that much. But, believe it or not, Tim and I have talked about it, rather often. Every time I read a book and tell him about it, or we watch a TV or movie and talk about the plot, we always joke “we could write that, we should write a book”. LOL! I don’t think it will ever happen though.

2) If you do write, do you do it for yourself, or because you hope to be published? (Or because you ARE published?) Most of my writing is done here, and I think if you read much of my blog, you’d see that I don’t have much talent for writing or any hopes of being published. A girl can dream though 😀

  1. Shawna Said,

I’ve always had a passion for writing and a dream to write a book. I’m hoping God will be able to use me with my writing. I was the editor of my high school newspaper and haven’t written much for fun since then. Our Love Story is the first creative thing I’ve written besides poetry in a long time, and I’m having a really wonderful time in the process. I have a desire to share my life struggles and how God has given me hope.

Go for it. You and Tim could write a book. You said you haven’t taken a writing class, but you read so many books. I think that’s a plus in the writing world. I have read some pretty bad writing in other blogs, and yours is definitely good!! The more practice, the better you become.

  2. Becky Said,

I think it would be great to write a book. I’d love to, but it’s just not my thing. I think you are a wonderful writer. I agree with Shawna about reading so many books is a plus in the writing world. You learn so much from reading others words. I would buy your book! 🙂

  3. Debi Said,

Great answers! I “played” again, too. I think we’re two of the few who don’t have big-time dreams of being published.

  4. Cam Said,

You’re quite a good writer. I wouldn’t be able to read your blog if you weren’t! I crave good writing, and that’s why I’m back day after day. 🙂

  5. melanie Said,

I agree – you are a good writer! I do write, but I do not do it to be published – I do it because I write. It’s enough for me… (which really is a good thing…

  6. Julia Said,

I didn’t take creative writing class in college, but I know I stink at writing even though I did write some stories. Like you, it going to be dream someday to publish my stories…but I don’t think it any good.

And hey, I have enjoy your blog and it is very entertaining. So while you think you don’t have the writing creativy to write, you sure do have a wonderful and entertaining way with writing your blog 🙂 Don’t give up on your hope to write stories someday 🙂

Happy Booking Through Thursday! And thanks so much for stopping by my blog! Have a good day!

  7. Melody Said,
