Well, Friday turned out too busy to even find time after lunch to do any blogging. I ended up going shopping all afternoon, even though I didn’t feel great. My throat is still a bit scratchy and I just seem generally weary for some reason. Must be our modified sleeping schedule. Anyway, I knew that time was running out to find an Easter dress, so I was on a mission! I had several other stops I wanted to make. I hope Tim got paid yesterday, because I ended up spending a lot of money!
I had to go to the tax assessor’s office first and get the tag renewed on my car. Then I hit Target and bought some more red Kitchenaid silicone bakeware. Tim had given me a set for my birthday and I found more at Target, so I got another piece. I also bought more of their cherry limeade bottled stuff, sugar free, caffeine free, calorie free. 😀 And a few other assorted items. Then, I headed to Bed, Bath and Beyond with a coupon in hand, to get another Yankee candle. I LOVE those things. They smell so good. The scent of the month is Clean Cotton, which I love. They were already on sale there, so with the coupon, I saved almost half off the original price! 🙂
Then I went to Marshalls and TJMaxx looking for an Easter dress. I didn’t see any dresses at all that I liked, but I ended up looking in my favorite section, the housewares stuff. I found a red Kitchenaid silicone mat, and several things of Harry and David food stuff. We had bought a bunch of H&D stuff on vacation last fall and it was all so good. I found more Moose Munch and more chocolates (blueberry and bing cherry), and I couldn’t resist, so I splurged. Must be why I haven’t been able to lose any weight lately! 🙂 After striking out for a dress there, I heaved a huge sigh and realized I was going to need to suck it up, and head to the mall. Off to Northpark where I parked at Penney’s, hoping I would find something there. If not, there was always McRaes and Dillards I could go to. I found several I liked at JC Penney though, and after trying on about 11 or 12 dresses, settled on 3. I intended to take one back, but after I got home and tried them all on for Tim, he said he liked all 3 and I should keep them. He’s such a good guy! 🙂
We went out to eat dinner at the new BBQ place in Madison that Tim likes, Ubon’s. We split a thing of ribs. Next time, I will stick with the pulled pork. I like the flavor better and it’s a lot less messy! I still think I prefer the other place in Madison, The Haute Pig, but Tim likes Ubon’s, so he wants to go there. We stopped by Hollywood and rented 2 movies after that. Tim got “The Village” and I got “Ray”. Two more on our rental list! We decided to stop at Cups on the way home and have coffee and dessert. David (my nephew) called on the way there and asked if he could stay with us tonight. Sure, he could, we always love to have David or any of his brothers and sisters come stay with us! Anyway, we went to Cups and they were not crowded. I just love this Cups location in Madison. It’s in an old Victorian house on Hwy 51 and it has such character. Lots of small rooms, high ceilings, comfy chairs, fireplaces, free wireless internet (although we didn’t take the laptop), and so much character and charm. Tim had “coffee”, dark (such a splurge) and I had a decaf blondie with whipped cream and caramel on top. We also split an iced fudge brownie for dessert. Between those two items, that was probably more than my 1500 calories I am supposed to consume all day. Oh well, it was worth it! We stayed and talked and had a great time, then left to meet David at the house. He left to go hang out with some friends, and I agreed to try to watch The Village with Tim. I figured I owed him, since he has watched two “girlie” movies with me lately (The Notebook and Shall We Dance). The movie ended up not being that scary, but I also didn’t think it was that great. I need to go enter a review on Hambones for it soon.
We still have Ray to watch and also Battlestar Galactica that we taped. David got back before we finished the movie, so we sat up a little while to hang out with him. All in all, a really great Friday! 🙂
I want to know:
1. What silicone piece did you buy?
2. Can I still get a Yankee Candle for this month? and is it on sale?
OK, since you asked so nicely!!! 🙂
I got a 9×9 square pan at Target, red.
The Yankee Candle scent of the month for March is Clean Cotton, and as I understand it, is for the whole month at BB&B. I had $5 coupon that I had gotten in the mail, so mine was only like 10.74. The biggest jar is on sale for 15.74, so the others are less. You can use coupons on these now, which I really like. They used to not allow coupons on Yankee Candle products.
How can I get me one of them coupons! I shop at BB&B and I don’t ever seem to get anything in the mail from them, even though I have signed up for mail things before. Shame on them! I think I like the sound of Clean Cotton, so I think I will get one this month, hopefully!
