Library Sale

This morning, I got up early and went to the book sale at my local library. I wish I had gotten there just a tad earlier…as I saw 2 or 3 books I would have wanted in other people’s arms! hehehe 🙂 As it was, I got more than I could carry. One of the older lady volunteers came up to me and said “Honey, let me go get you a bag!” I had more books picked out that I was thinking of getting, but I sat myself down in a corner and went through them several times. I was trying to be good, and a bit realistic about just how many more books do I need to have at home on my bookshelves, so I ended up putting several of them back. As it was, I ended up bringing home 11 books. One is more for Tim (Hades Factor by Robert Ludlum), and one is the only John Grisham we don’t own (Bleachers). But, the rest are all for me!!

I posted a picture of the ones I bought over at my Project365 blog – click here to go check them out. Books, glorious books!

The rest of the day is going to be really busy. We have some errands to run, then a lot of cleaning up and cooking to do before the big Super Bowl party tomorrow. Feel free to stop by, we’re going to have plenty of food and hopefully a great time watching the game 😀

  2. Stacy Said,

    Great shopping!

  3. Southern Girl Said,

Ooo, I love library sales! Our library system has a once a year sale in this huge building on the Memphis fairgrounds, and I’ve been once or twice — it’s like a kid going to a candy store. 😀 I’d see people pulling little red wagons full of books.

  4. Dianne Said,

Cool! I love library sales too. On my way to check out your new pile!

  5. Gail Said,

Good job, I thought I had commented here and realized it was on your picture at the other spot and not here!
I wish my library had sales but I don’t think they do very often and if or when they do, there wouldn’t be stuff as good as what yours has.

  6. Judi Said,

I don’t think my library has sales. Bummer. I hope you have a blast tomorrow!

  7. Jonas Said,

Love books! Judi- I found my library sale on Book Sale Scout http://www.booksalescout.com

  8. Debi Said,

There’s nothing quite like a used book sale, is there? My whole family goes hog-wild at our library’s book sale! Someday I need to take a picture of all our over-flowing bookcases (all 16 of them!).
Glad you had so much fun!
And have a fabulous time at your party tonight!

  9. Lynne Said,

Goodwill used to have a huge booksale here in Atlanta. It would take up the entire lower level of a mall and last for 3-4 days. Then they moved it to another site south of Atlanta (I think). I never got there as it was too far away. I just found out that they’ve stopped it completely. They do have lots of books in each Goodwill location, but it’s just not the same.

  10. Jane Said,

Great choice of books, that should keep you busy for a bit……like your idea of a photo a day also!

  11. southernfriedgirl Said,

I wish our library did that more often. I would be like a pig in slop.

  12. Cam Said,

You mean you didn’t snatch the books from those people’s arms? 😉

I’m glad you got more books!

  13. jen Said,

I would love to stop by…LOL! We had our little appetizer party…delicious….I don’t really care who wins….doesn’t matter to me….glad you found some new books…I’m not a book fan..wish I was.

  14. ZuphChic Said,

I wish I could hit a sale like that! I think I’m doing good at Costco…but your bargains are even better! *trying not to be jealous*

I can’t wait to hear your reviews on some of those books…I’ve seen alot of them but haven’t taken the plunge…YET! I keep saying I’m not going to buy another book until I’ve read my entire “To Be Read” pile. Yeah right! Like that is EVER going to happen…

  15. Momma Said,

I love book sales, too. I attend one every first Saturday of the month. Each of the last three months I have brought home between 125 and 145 children’s books. I sell some, but keep most! My Honey built me a room to serve as library! I am a confessed children’s book-o-holic!
